There is a saying in Texas for "new" Texans. It's "I wasn't born in Texas, but I got here as fast as I could". This applies to me and this Tundra Forum too. So thank you to all those before me who tried something new, made an upgrade, found a good resource and made the learning mistakes so I didn't have to.

I'm a new owner of a 2018 1794 and a first time truck owner. And I've got the bug. I've had to get creative in my side hustle to come up with upgrade cash. My wife just thinks my parts and labor have been really, really inexpensive so far.

I prefer a more slightly leaning stock look of a truck, hence the name, but ask me again in six months from now. What some of you all do with your overlanding builds is impressive to say the least. For now, I've done Amp steps, 3/1.5 6112's coilover/block lift and threw on some 295/60 Open Country. Diff drop, front bumper shims, 1" wheel spacer and some interior upgrades too. Already have a short list of things to come. And I thought golf was expensive. :D 20210607_183931.jpg 20210608_083418.jpg Thanks to @Disfigurative for the info that helped me make a good tire size decision.

I look forward to being a part of the community!

Ty. Yours as well. Which brings me to my next crossroad, cover or shell.

Obviously I prefer shell but I have had both. These just look better on a tundra in my opinion

Nice rig. You are on a path that I hope to go down the rest of this year. Where did you get the 1" spacer... I am liking that look.

    https://www.uswheeladapters.com/5-lug-wheel-spacers-uswa/

Had these delivered in about 1 week from US Wheel Adapters. As far as I know, Bora is another reputable company making them in 1" but they're on a 10 week delivery. I liked the 1" due to the look and because I like my paint and wanted to retain gas mileage. The 1" spacer made my stock platinum wheel 60+ offset to roughly 35+. .
Has an offset calculator that will show the difference in wheel/tire on your rig and it was helpful to me. Absolutely no problem with the upper control arm.
You can find the Spidertrax spacer in a 1.25 pretty much anywhere.
    Good luck!

From golfing to modding a Tundra isn't too bad. When I read the title I thought you might need a referral to my "I'm getting old" thread.
