Hey guys I'm new here and just sold my 2013 tacoma for an 06 tundra limited 4 door. I've always wanted one and I love it.

I'm having some issues finding a tonneau cover....

Does anyone know of a hard folding tonneau cover that fits with a T-slot rail to mount ladder racks for the 1st gen 6' 2" bed???

My experience was hard folding covers for the FGT are getting slim in options. I only found two. The Bak Flip G2 is very nice but expensive, and a brand called Armordillo sold on amazonn that was half the price of the Bak Flip, but looked cheap, imo. It installed on top of the rail caps where the Bak Flip mounts nicely inside the rail cap. I don’t believe either have the T slots.

I’ve had soft roll up and retractable hard covers also but prefer the tri fold. Can’t speak to if you will find something with the T slot in a retractable. A lot of them seem to no longer be producing for FGT

Is it possible this would fit your needs? https://www.tundras.com/threads/wha...-gen-tundra-today.2558/page-1330#post-2738913

Leaves access to stake pockets, which could then allow for t-rack mounting. There's a Canadian company I'm aware of that makes a rail system they say is compatible with a number of trifold tonneaus, I can dig up the name if you need.

I swear there's a camper/tonneau link buried in one of the first two replies on the community megathread too: https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

@DBombs that is also what I have found. Being new to 1st gens i guess I'm just surprised by the limited options.

Not without considerable engineering. Your main issue would be, the Bakflip trifold itself uses clamp-to-bedrail rails for its inner boxframe, which would interfere with the T-rail. Beyond that, any attempt to tuck under the rubber seal shown may allow water entry.

I'm not sure if what you're looking for - trifold or similar tonneau with integrated or optional T-rail in/with the frame - exists for 1st gen Tundras. I haven't seen it at least.

I originally got the Bakflip because it was a smoking deal, and it supports a couple hundred pouds so I could throw a sleeping bag on it and sleep over the bed, temperatures usually allow that where I am. I was pleased at install time to see the stake pockets were free, which opened a whole other can of worms. I started eyeballing the Twin Peaks "Stealth" rack to go along with it, Twin Peaks claims compatibility with a number of sliding/folding tonneaus. But clearly, it doesn't quite sit tall enough to work with the bakflip.

I'd personally prefer T-rail, solely for the versatility. I assume that's your intent, being able to custom fab up an array of options for over-bed?

Ok thats good stuff thank you. ( In a perfect world) I'd get a hard folding tonneau for security and the couple hundred lbs of load it can hold, as well adjustable height racks. Main purpose is my side work and need to throw long pipes and ladders up top. I also do about 2-3 good adventure roadtrips every year so therea a lot of versatility for me with that set up.

According to Realtruck customer service these above are all compatible.

Unfortunately it looks like I'll have to pass on security of my tools and put a soft rolling tonneau, t- slot rails, and racks.

Wow, elusive stepside cover. You too can make your stepside 1GT look like a Chevy SSR.

We have a couple of these in the NW GA area right now. I’ve been thinking about snatching one of them up. Pretty cheap too, $200-300 range.
