I had to do one as the Sankei 555 is NOT OEM EQUIVALENT and therefore the OEM kicked the toe out on mine

Dropped my truck off at the stealership this morning for LBJ replacement. Just got a call telling me they have to order them and it could take three days. *sigh* Oh well. They said they could get the job done sooner with aftermarket parts but the technician advised against that, I quickly cut him off and said I don't mind waiting for OEM.

The fact that the tech advised against aftermarket parts lets me believe that he knows what he's talking about and will likely do a good job. At least that's what I'm telling myself.

They're also going to do the airbag recall so I finally stop getting those notices in the mail.

Wish you lived closer dude, I'd do the work with you, and you could get the satisfaction of knowing it was done right, and at a fraction of the cost!

Yeah, they're probably gonna rape me on the price but at least I'm getting it done. Whatever they charge me will be cheaper than an LBJ failing, especially on the highway.

Imagine having to take that phone call from your wife. "Honey I don't know what happened but the wheel fell off".

People are taking the phrase “I’ll drive it till the wheels fall off” too literally nowadays.

Changed my sequoia LBJs last night. OEM with new bolts. Took a couple hours including the 20 minute walk to hardware store to buy a cotter pin. The packaging of the parts from the dealer I ordered from was crap, looks like a grizzly had a go at it. I'm lucky all that was lost was a cotter pin and not any of the 8 bolts that were floating around.

My package with a second set of LBJs for my Tundra has been delayed by FedEx. Otherwise I'd be doing it again tonight.

It was a 2 pack... I also bought a 2 pack for the tie rods. I could have drove, but I try to not be lazy and walk or bike to places that are close...

The second set of ball joints, are for my other first gen. That set I actually ordered the recall LBJ set, I believe it does not come with cotters or castle nuts, so those are also in the mail. Just needed one pin to replace the one that must have fell out of the package.

Many of us have found that it's a good call to have an assortment of cotter pins handy. I've had several cases where the only thing keeping me from finishing a job was the lack of a cotter pin that I didn't realize I'd need.

Any of you guys know what the correct LBJ bolt is used on an 02?

Online I’m seeing 90119-10933 but at the dealer they told me 90080-10066. Guy at the counter didn’t look too credible.

I guess I’ll just call another dealer to confirm.
