As most of you know, Toyota recalled a lot of our frames due to rust. More information about it can be read here -> Early 1st Gen (2000-2003) Tundra Frame Replacement FAQ Big thanks to @lsaami for starting that thread which is a great place to learn, and read. I'll link this thread to his once we get rolling.

The reason why I'm starting this thread is to build a data base of part numbers for frames for every first gen out there! I can't do this without your help!

I'm asking all those who have had their frames replaced to log in to toyota.com/owners/my-vehicle/service-history. Once there, I want you to provide this thread with your Year, Cab Style, Engine, 4WD/2WD, TRD/SR5/Limited and the Part number for the recall frame used on your truck. It will be under the repair report under the "details" list.

I will then organize the frame numbers by your information about your truck. If you wish to remain anonymous, but still provide a part number. Feel free to PM me. It will still help the group.

My frame is supposed to be getting replaced sometime this month or early next month. I have a 01 AC V8 4x4. Planning on putting a thread together once everything is done to share my experience and detail everything. Will give any part numbers I can get my hands on.

Anything they take off they will not charge labor if you supply them the parts or get dealer parts. They should give you a list of parts they recommend replacing. And reduce labor rates for stuff that's attached to w/e they're taking off already. e.g. front axles, rear axles, wheel hubs, water pump, timing belt, head gasket. Head gasket they would knock like 4-5 hours off it .You will get some new parts like outer tie rods and lower control arms for free. Those will get destroyed trying to remove them. Check your power steering lines, rack and pinion and, lower ball joints, upper ball joints, upper control arms if they need to be replaced. That's a good time to get them done if you supply them with parts, before they do the alignment.

That's the plan. I'm doing everything that makes financial sense while it's apart. I'll go into detail when I make a thread.

Spoke with tundra2 about this already, but when I just had my frame done I asked the service manager if he could get me any other part numbers together for any other trucks. He told me that when a frame is recalled they tell Toyota corporate and then Toyota ships them the proper frame and they were unable to look up part numbers. He also told me that you could no longer order a whole frame unless your truck was being recalled.

Looks like this might be the answer for all of it. If someone can determine what part number fits which truck then there's your list.

I suppose these could be plugged into a dealer website for fitment info. Two sources now saying individuals can't buy frames. Bummer.

Do you know if your V6 has a different frame than the same year V8? Curious how much different it could be.

I'm not entirely sure. We can compare frames when I'm down soon. Granted yours is a 4WD though.

The challenge I am finding is that the part #’s are valid at places like McGeorge Toyota for example but there is no “Vehicle Fitment” tab as if it’s a hush hush part#.

    link from above LSC….
    https://lsc-aof.imagespm.info/

if we could get someone at a dealer to sign in that’d be great :D

I'm starting to think the frames might be the same or very similar but the crossmembers in the front might be different. I know we have one member who couldn't use the Skid Row armor he bought because the holes didn't line up with the transmission crossmember on his V6.

Are they still doing the recalls? I thought that expired after 15 years?

I believe it is mostly or only early 1st gens (00-02).
My 01 just had frame replacement yesterday.

Perhaps, I could ahem... accelerate rust in the important cross members they look at.

    That's a helluva gamble though...

Kinda bummed that you can't buy a frame anymore. Wonder who ruined that for everyone or if that was a corporate decision so you had to go through them.

    Removed lots of rust.
This is what a dealer quoted me for just the parts needed in frame replacement.
I ordered some of these items and I am repairing my frame myself.
My frame was previously coated by Toyota, so no warranty replacement for me.

I'd contact Toyota of America if they're not covering it under warranty, unless it's for a good reason (i.e. year doesn't qualify, or it was frame-coated previously).
