First Gen frame interchange

    Same bed length and cab configuration would be a must, otherwise the frame is either too short or too long. Body mounts won't line up. You would end up having to cut the frame and either remove material or add some, and then still make sure everything lines up.

    I would find one with the same engine too otherwise you're cutting off the engine mounts and welding yours on. Transmission doesn't really matter 4wd or 2wd just use the correct crossmember for your application. The trans crossmember is just held in by 4 bolts no welds.

    2001 Toyota Tundra
    I have a regular cab. I thought a larger cab and a shorter bed model may still work for my truck but maybe not?
    I called Toyota and they told me the frame I need is discontinued.
    Is there anyplace I can purchase this new?

    Should be the same frame.

    Bring a tape measure with you. Measure end to end, check the crossmember positions, engine, and trans mounts.

    AC and RC frame should be similar, if not exactly the same.

    Regular Cab (long bed) and Access Cab (short bed) are supposedly the same frame under the cab.
