In the next couple of months I will be getting tires, and I would like something a little taller than stock, but I want to maintain as much performance as possible.

The question has been asked several times about a lightweight 275/70/18, and I have found only two non load range e options:
The p rated General Grabber APT ( 42 lbs), and the load range d Duratrac (54 lbs).

The Firestone Destination X/T in this size is e rated but is listed at 49 lbs, has the snow flakes, and most importantly looks pretty good.

I can't find any reviews on these tires, and all I know about Firestone is that they used to cause Ford Explorers to spontaneously roll over. Does anyone here have any insight into whether these tires are any good?

is new, so expect few if any reviews. You could try them out and post a review.

I have used them for about 4 months now. I like them but I have used Duratracs in the past and I think I prefer the Duratracs honestly. I don't care for how the XT's pick up stones. The XTs are quieter than the Duratracs and the ice traction of the XT's is better than Duratracs as well. The deep snow traction is better on the Duratracs though.

It's been a while, but they look like the old Firestone Destination ATs I had many years ago on a 1st ten Tacoma. Those ATs were great. They did well in the rain and allowed my Tacoma to go up a 4 diamond-rated hill climb while a Jeep with mud terrains struggled on the same climb. I have no idea about these new XTs, though, but I was impressed enough with the old ATs that I might consider them if the price is right.
