I just know going into this they will want full payment and my estimate was12310.00 for Supercharger, tune, install.I added the gauge install and catch can install and still have Never been given an estimate. Every Mechanic I know goes by the book and in most cases it's close.I know WinterWarlock21 had a 270 amount for his catch can billed at 2 hrs I think that's a little excessive,I'm just trying to be realistic and also feel that they should take some off for all the hassle and time loss they created

I’d expect $11,500 at the end of the day. I’d also bring up how highly recommended they were by me (who was 1.5 months ahead of you) and others and how they didn’t live up to the bar.

Thanks guys always good to have different views that don't have any skin in the game. They may offer a discount they may not....we will know when I get up there Monday

Small update.....hopefully it will be ready by Monday at 2.00pm then I have an appointment 1 hour away with OTT to really dial it in. John and Justin have been unbelievable in their willingness to help me out,if you recall I had John do a tune/trans update and it was SMOOTH AS BUTTER. they are helping the tuner in Orange VA to get it dialed in.
Anyone needing a remote or in person tune I can't begin to tell you how professional they are......

Are you using your upgraded larger diameter air box?. If so make sure Nat speed gives you your stock components. OTT will probably want you to go back to stock, you'll want to let OTT know otherwise.

Thanks Saltyhero13 yea already spoke to OTT they sized my Stillen when I had them do the first tune /NA
National Speed has the 77.5 and the 85 pulleys Stillen box and everything else that's the first priority when I pick it up.

We consider the Maggy/TRD airbox a "known" entity and those can be used in place of "stock" parts when required.

Great. That makes OP's life easier.

Will you let us know if you find a restriction with that box coupled with the 77.5 Pulley?

Unfortunately they wouldn't install the 77.5 pulley, said it was too small

Don't know I haven't asked but I will when I get up there....I will keep you posted. Rey bought up that OTT had his afr high and timing was off.

In your experience is running in the 11s for AFR safe? Most places seem to shoot for low/mid 10s, do you think that's too conservative?

We're not most places, and we don't follow the pack - we follow what the data tells us. With the particular vehicle/setup that generated the log above, that's what we deemed appropriate. Our testing hasn't shown or given us any reason to target 10:1 or otherwise on a stock internal 3UR with any of the available blowers running quality pump fuel at this airflow level. We've gone richer and leaner and settled where we did (for that particular combo), as we've not observed there to be any improvement in output with a richer mixture on similar setups we've tested on the dyno. We've got folks with similar setups towing 7K+lb trailers cross-country with our calibration, and I 110% stand by our work.

EQ#1 should be ignored. It's an unused channel in this log.

Interesting so about the same as your shop uses, correct? Edit: sorry leaner.

Curious as to any other findings.

UPDATE........I picked up My truck yesterday afternoon and am pleased that National Speed has steeped up and gave me a discount on the work preformed. I do feel that the hours are somewhat inflated, it is what it is. They were very proactive in all the communications issues albeit after the fact and seemed to understand my frustration.
I will try to give you all the numbers later tonight but the total bill was a couple hundred over the original estimate even with the gauge and catch can install. I was told but can't verify the ECU replacement was 1000.00 on them of course.
Truck runs great,no lights or problems....psb1 may not have been set up properly as it shows negative boost numbers at all throttle settings, afr shows 10.9 at start up but jumps to 12.2 then 12.9 up to 14 and stays there weather cruising or adding power, so I kept it at 2000rpm and babies it home.

Well ,No...? My wife was following me back home I told her I was going to see what it would do....and off I went slowly adding pedal till 95 then let off, truck pulls wonderful but I looked back and there was the wife on my tail doing 95 in a Camry....WTH.....so in hindsight should have bought another Camry.......seriously though yes worth every penny so far.

Glad you got it back and it’s all wrapped up. Go try the tow/haul button now to feel the real difference, I find it to be almost undrivable with how touchy the pedal is. When not in tow haul with the stock pedal mapping you wouldn’t even know it has 600hp until you really start rolling deeper into the throttle.

I don't know what is up with my psb1 gauge readings,National Speed was to set it up and install.
On start up boost psi reads minus 22.5 afr reads 12.9 and as it warms up 14.7
Boost will move to lower readings up to 0.00 at 90mph
Afr stay at 14.7..14.8 regardless of Speed and throttle position
Looks like after a very brief reading of the directions it wasn't calibrated???

Whatever this forum told me to do
My truck is “similar” to yours

    My idle boost is -17

cruise boost at 60 is -10

boost only builds under decent throttle, as soon as you level off the pedal, boost will drop

afr is 14.7. Until I reach PE..30% pedal. Then it drops to 10.5ish. Drop back to 14.7 if I let off acceleration

    Too many mods to come
So outside of positive boost you will see vacuum perfectly normal. Positive boost once you get into the throttle should happen. AFR's under normal driving will typically be all over the place but again under positive boost they should dive to the target afr.

You'll also see a leaner afr on startup due to the vacuum pumps running briefly

If your AFR isn't going below 12 when WOT and building boost, there's a problem. Maybe confirm calibration and recheck?
