It means don't go off roading where your back end will drop heavy off of ledges with a ton of shit in the bed.

    I
Made the mistake and took on more than my truck was ready for with 700 lbs in the bed. If I knew the trail was going to be the level it was I would have removed at least 400 lbs.

Sorry, I guess my original statement was vague. I didn't hurt the truck but I do have to replace my leaf springs after only having it 3 months

Potentially, but that probably would not have saved my leaf springs. The 2"shackles will give you more of a rear end rake but just be careful not to do what I did. Once you load the bed you will definitely lose some of your rake, but as long as your not stressing it or leaving your load then you'll be fine.

My next move is going to either a custom Deaver pack or custom Alcan leaf pack but leaving my stock shackles and leave my 1"block. This info is not because I know what I'm doing, it's from lots of asking ridiculous sounding questions to learn how it all works.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with your questions about what's best. It all boils down to what your needs are. I plan on doing more off roading and I want to be prepared for anything. I've seen guys do awesome stuff with both shackles you have. I've spent so much money recently that I'm going big when needed and shaving where I can without compromising my future endeavours

I'm not sure if I answered your questions but this has been my experience so far. I most confusing thing to all of this for me is all the variations available.

Broke as a joke I am right now. It's not a cheap hobby! Unfortunately it's consumed me lately so I know exactly where your head is with all of the options.

Just remember, don't make any significant changes until you're certain. You can read the opinions from some guys that sound like they know what theyre talking about, and they usually do, but then you here someone else's opinion that makes tons of sense and it totally confuses you!

Sift through all you can before deciding. Also, talk to off road shops that are no part of this forum and you get more overwelmed.

Think about it like this...everyone has some angle and incentive for pushing what they think is best. Decide for yourself what you are trying to accomplish and ask questions in that direction. From my limited experience I found that if I have specific ideas about what I'm trying to get out of my truck I can ask more educated questions and I get more educated (and, accurate) responses.

I know it's overwhelming to know exactly what you want but you'll get to where you are trying to go with enough diligence. When I bought my truck three months ago I had no idea this is where I'd be........
    20170422_150444.jpg
All I wanted was out of my Tacoma and back in a Tundra. Well, I got that and much more I had no idea was coming. Now I'm hooked!

Now that's a awesome truck you have and yes in deed, I had a 2010 Tundra white DC 5.7 traded it for a 2016 Tacoma TRD off road because I always wanted to get a Tacoma. 6 months later and not a day went buy when I thought about the Tundra, I missed the power, room and capabilities so much!

I took a ride out to my Toyota dealer I bought the 2010 from and that was that,

2017 Tundra 4X4, CM 5.7, SR5 and never looked back, yes the Tundra is by far at least to me the best truck on the market, period! I could have got a Platinum, PRO or TRD but the $10,000 difference from the top 2 made me go SR5 and sounds kinda goofey but I wanted to fix it up the way I wanted which gives me a lot of pride!

I hate this MOD itch, but think of what I want to do all the time.

The wife and I have not been camping in years but when I mentions a BAMF rack and a RTT, well she raised an eyebrow saying the it was a cool idea with a plus factor of being up away from the critters!

    Cheers Brother!

I'm thinking about going with +3 CB's since I am going to shim the front and want to keep the factory rake.

As soon as I have it all planned out and find the right rack. A few things I need... It's likely not coming off so it needs to be low enough to fit in my garage. Second, I want it to mount to my stake holes so I can keep my retractable tonneau and keep my stuff secure. But haven't seen one like this yet. So I'm starting to think about buying the Relentless bars and breaking out the welder and fabbing it up myself. Ugggghhh, but that would be a lot of work. Why can't someone just make one like this?

Fab up some sort of footers sit on the rails but that go down in to the stake holders and drill holes from the inside of the bed from under the tonneau. On the footers that stick down in to the stake holders the holes you will drill will have threaded fabbed holes on the posts that will hold them.

On the rails will have flat pieces that cover the stake holes.

Does this make sense? If not, i will draw something up for you and send it over later tonight.

I am 100% sure this will work but it will take some effort on your part

I'm NOT broke the accountant/wife acts like we are. It's hard to sneak money to buy mod stuff. I do it anyways and get in trouble about once per month, but like @Jsena says "Easier to ask for forgiveness than ask for permission." :anonymous:

@Almaboy , I'd be interested in seeing this drawing you're making. I would like a rack, and have the ability to fab one up. Could you send me uno, por favor??
