All fiberglass sucks, fitment wise. McNeil and Fiberwerx are the same, actually blood relations. SDHQ and and ADV are the same. ADV says SDHQ copied their designs. The SDHQ and ADV front fenders are more tucked and terminate beneath the headlights in roughly the same location as OEM, meaning your front bumper doesn't have to be a custom width. Seems most of my friends with 3rd gens are going with SDHQ. Shipping is a huge expense so you may want to factor that in.

I'm one of Warren's friends that is going with SDHQ. They actually got delivered this week and are sitting in my driveway.
    SDHQ_Crate.jpg

I've been fortunate enough to see most of the options in person on BASTRDS and SGU trucks. I was going to go with Fiberwerx, because they offer carbon fiber that I thought would be cool if I left them raw, but the leadtime was 3-4 months. In my opinion, SDHQ looks the best and they were available immediately, so that is what I went with.

    Perfect info. Thanks

Those were all that I found in searching so its good to know I wasn't missing anything. Is the same true for the rears ?

Rear's a little different story. They all terminate beneath the tail lights in the same fashion as OEM so no custom dimensions for width of bumper. However everyone cuts the glass behind the rear wheels and has a custom bumper made. The SS built rear bumper is popular as an alternative to custom. You'll also need the anodized aluminum washers, Kartek and Kibbetech make/sell them. I'm sure there are other places to buy 'em as well. Fitting the glass is a real PITA. There are a couple pics in my build thread for the rears.

My first thought is to end up with solid axles and 3-4 linked because its what I know. Not sure at the moment.

I've read all of your thread, I also have lots of fiberglass experience (Surfboards and baja bugs) your carbon fiber work interests me. I can make all the other parts needed including the anodizing.

I have @sdhq_offroad front and rear, don’t personally know anyone else running the rears. My fab shop did a Tundra with Fiberwerks same time, SDHQ fit better, and definitely more rigid so they don’t flop around.

Some pics of rear fitment/install. They really don’t need any special washers due to being thick and beefy. Do have to cut more of the bed than others I’ve seen to fit over the top of the bed nice.

Do fender liners come with these, or are they fabricated?

LOL. Okay... how about removing the bedsides to paint? Is there enough space to get a small allen wrench in there? My fab guy is in Arizona and I won't be able to go back there to get the bedsides removed.

My problem with this thought is that if I link it then I can chop the frame to shorten the departure angle. I end up in deep rabbit holes when I'm let alone to think.

    Yes, I just quoted myself.

Do you just reuse the existing bolt or did you have to drill a new hole or something?

The carbon is quite different but your experience with fiberglass will definitely enable you to do it yourself. Just be sure you don't use too much resin as it'll push the carbon away from the glass.

Yes I can get them out, just messing with you. But seriously throw saving money out the window, this is LT. I think your making a mistake, your awesome rear bumper and bedsides go together, so there is some of that $900, and the bed is coming off regardless. It’s your brand new truck though.:notsure:

You're in the game too. Valid opinion and I respect your thoughts on the subject. Trying to save money on LT has proven to be very expensive for me. :D

Yeah, it's not about the money. If I can fit it in my truck to get it to AZ, I'm definitely having Kyle do it. If I can't fit it with 5 37's in the bed with it, gonna have to do it myself.

Sell the ones you just bought to someone local and then have Kyle buy new ones, so that you don't have to carry them.
