I am also looking into Fender Flares for my Truck. I was trying to decide if I would be happy with the look. Seeing them on other Tundras helps me see what they look like. I am also looking to help protect the fenders from rocks and stuff that can chip the fenders. Plus the tires rub on the mudflaps when turning due to their size. This will atleast help end that issue.

These are sharp. I like that look. I ordered a set but they look like the rivet style. I do like this smooth look though.

Finally got my fender flares installed. I will post pics later. Took some before pics prior to installing. Took awhile to install due to the tedious work needed before you can actually install them. The bolts that go around the top of the flares and then the rubber seal that goes on to go against the body. Didn't need to drill any new holes to install them which was nice not needing to do. They are a snug fit and some pressure was needed on some of the areas to install the screws.

Did you use the clear tape on the body?

Clear Tape? Not sure what you mean. What is the purpose for that?

I think it's 3M that makes a clear tape that needs to be used where the rubber meets the paint so it won't wear the paint off.

Nice. I wish I would have known about this before. I would have to take them back off now to do that. Maybe I will some time this summer.

Not everyone’s cup of tea I know, but these Bushwacker DRT’s are a nice option vs. flares with bolts, and have “utilitarian” styling that, to me, is reminiscent of AJT Design’s interior trim. Plus they almost completely cover my +25 offset Vector 5’s.

    And I used PPF…

    …so…

Well I went a different route for now to protect against most but not all rock chips. I got some hurculiner bedliner in a can and coated the unprotected metal parts in the wheel well. I’ll see how it holds up. I brushed it on and it actually covered really well. I used two coats but might add more in the future until I find some low profile flairs I like. You can’t really tell from the side that it’s there and after the gloss wears off it should be less noticeable.
