Soon to be 4WC Raven host. Mods to come.
Replaced with OEM tow mirrors. Such an outstanding addition. Looks better/balanced and the bottom wide view mirrors are AWESOME.

What is your wheel and tire setup?

Wheel width, offset and tire width?

Would help if you linked the mirrors you bought or mentioned the brand. Many lower end aftermarket mirrors do tend to suck and vibrate. Always helpful to other members to link the product so we know what to avoid.

I installed Toyota tow mirrors for doing some towing during the summer. I know some people don't like them, I am happy with them. I was going to put the original small ones back on for the winter because I can just barely get in my garage with the tow mirrors not folded. But I like the extra visibility of the parabolic mirrors so much, even when not towing that I may just leave them on all the time.

Anyone have any updated ebay/Amazon link for a reputable source? GM style, heated, high output backup/running light, non power.

Don't think any off Amazon have a high output backup light. These have been bought buy folks on this forum and they seem to do all right. You get what you pay for though.

I have the oem tow mirrors. I initially wanted the GM style mirrors, but felt they were just a bit much for me. IMO the OEMs are great and the added visibility is so helpful. One drawback I wish I didn’t experience (and still do) the upper/large mirror does vibrates and shifts position occasionally. I wished this wasn’t the case as I’ve read they occur with the a/m versions.

Question for those who have swapped to tow mirrors:

I am geting reay to return a set I ordered off ebay as the plugs do not match up.
I as sure I had come accoss this problem in a thread before, but cannot find it.
I have looked at a few adds that show the connector, and the clip and guides in the connector are on opposite sides, but on my factory harness they are on the same side.

Any suggestions or have any of you run into this?

    Thanks.

I love my tow mirrors. Might tint the signal/running lights a little. No rattles or mirror movement. I bought them off of rock auto. Heat and power adjust aswell. Plug and play.

I felt like I lost a little in my side to side viewing, but gained a little more in vertical when I switched. I put the OE tow mirrors on my 2 previous Tundras, but I’ve kept factory mirrors on my current one.

I had tow mirrors on my 2015. They were great on our 5,000 trip out west and on some of our longer RV excursions. I loved them for towing but never cared for them when I wasn't. A few reasons for this:

    1. I really missed the convex mirror on the passenger side. Yes the tow mirror have convex mirrors on the bottom but the Toyota's are very short so they don't offer much range. Pick the high or the low but can't have both.
    2. The mirror was too far from the truck when slid in. I could not easily find the side of my truck without moving significantly in my seat. Again the convex bottom mirror is supposed to help with this but they are too short to be much good.
    3. The truck was just too wide. It was more difficult to pull in and out of the garage.
    4. Gas mileage. Minor but noticeable.
    5. Wind noise.

I removed and sold them. I purchased a set of Ksource snap on mirrors. They are functional. They are not great but I drive without the travel trailer way more than I tow it.....

Food for thought. Not for everyone.

    A bunch
GM Style power fold tow mirrors can fix items 1-3 for sure. For #5 I barely notice it, there are a few times I get a tiny whistling but even the radio at 15 is louder than the whistling.

The Toyota ones are not very good, I love towing mirrors for driving trucks and much prefer the small regular mirrors over the Toyota tow mirrors. The 3rd gen ones look to be much improved, just saw them for the first time earlier this week at the dealership, I'd be curious to drive them to see if they can rival the domestic 3 tow mirrors.

I installed a set of 1A Auto, Trail Ridge towing mirrors on my 2020 Off-road this week. I really enjoyed them towing a 24’ long 8’6” wide equipment trailer. Still getting used to them without anything in tow, but no noticeable vibration and look great in my opinion.
Listed my take offs for sale locally - hoping that doesn’t come back to haunt me and I continue to like them though!

I put GM style tow mirrors on and like the function and look. Sliding them in and out is tight. No vibration. When in, they’re out a little more than stock. Took a little to get use to looking over more to see in the mirror. My tow mirrors have a turn/flasher signals built in where my original mirrors didn’t have. The plug fit and I was surprised the signals worked. Mine don’t have puddle lights. I got them from car parts.com. I tried strap-on mirrors for towing with poor results. When installing, be very careful you don’t loose the nuts inside the door. E29DA9B9-748C-4545-8CB5-0409B2F2E2A1.jpgB1AA468D-BC0B-477D-98E7-150E676E9EE7.jpg

From this angle, those look more like the stock Tundra style than GM style. Do you have a picture from the front?

Please excuse the dirt. The truck needs a good cleaning. I do like the telescopic function of them.
