Picked this up today, reddit seemed hot and cold on it. Well see how it goes.

The McKenna's I've had the last couple years have been pretty consistent. Probably one of the better "bang for the buck" options available (when its available...).

This is my BIL's "house brand." It's pretty regularly available here in UT, as you know. Pretty good buy IMO.

Technically it's not a limited allocation here in ID either, but given how badly our State Liquor Division has messed things up, it may as well be.

I see a Hillrock bottle in there… nice! How do you like it? I prefer the solera aged bourbon

Not a huge fan, that's probably why it is still there, have had it for a year. I went to their distillery last spring and did a tasting, but their products are definitely over priced.

Fresh bottle but I think I like this better than the Full Proof.

One of my favorites these days but the prices vary so much from 50 to 80.

I love this one, have two unopened bottles and a Weller Special Reserve I've been saving for a special occasion(s). These are really hard to get in Utah, but sometimes pop up in neighboring states. =(

Border Beverage in Evanston is your best hope. I hate to tell you this and increase my competition, but if you follow their Instagram they will usually post there when they get special stuff.

They also tend to save several rare bottles throughout the year and offer them all up (1 per person across all rarities) around July 4, Labor Day, etc.

I paid 119 , again I was hesitant based on the SR and FP but so glad I made the choice, I really like this bottle.

Agree about their products being overpriced. I like their bourbon much more than their scotch, which costs ~$30 more at stores near me.

I’ll checkout the distillery soon and see how that goes...

It's an out of the way little place with a nice tasting room. If you get to do a tasting, you'll notice how they bring out their single malt, dead last. It is so pungent and they know it, actually smells like a dumpster fire so they have to be careful. If you are in the general area the Taconic Distillery Standfordville, NY isn't too far away, while not as nice a set up as Hillrock, their tasting room / mini bar is so much more fun.

I’ll be ice fishing flaming gorge this weekend in WY. Any whiskey hunting spots you’d care to share near the border of UT?

Not asking for secret honey holes, just big stores that may have store picks and reasonable prices.

All of the liquor stores in Evanston are pretty good. Border Beverage and Discount Liquor are the best though.

    Here to tight lines!
