To pick one is very difficult. I have a moderate collection of over 100 bottles including everything Weller and a few pappy's. I enjoy the hot stuff (barrel proof and cask strength) but if I had to pick an every day sipper for <$30 bucks that is readily available, I would have to go with Evan Williams Single Barrel. There may be some of you with more bourbon experience, but I have tasted a lot of the top hot sellers and the EW single barrel is as consistent as it comes for me. Don't get me wrong if I could drink Weller 12 year old every day I would, but for several years I didn't see it , this year was a lucky one and I scored 8 bottles which will be consumed sparingly.

I was into Basil Hayden's, but my wife recently bought me some Blanton's for our anniversary in November. I liked it so much I asked for more for Christmas!

problem is Blanton's is hard to come by and Basil Hayden's isn't.

I collect whiskey, Belle Meade single barrel store picks have become my "go to" pours as of lately. Also a big fan of Four Roses single barrel. I like the following recipes depending on my mood: OESK OBSK OESV OESK OESO. Russell Reserve and Knob Creek Small Batch 100 proof will also do when in a pinch.

Damn! I need to work out an invitation to drink at your house. I guess I'd be a little nervous about what to bring as a host's gift. I mean, what does one give in exchange for a swig of Pappy?

This is true. I've learned to ask every time I go into liquor stores on my area. Doing that, I usually find it only once a year. I happened upon a dusty bottle in a store up in Monterey for a 2 night conference, and bought it to share with my coworkers, then had to leave the last bit when we boarded a plane home. Probably shoulda tried smuggling it through...

I've really noted Four Roses but I'd have to keep notes handy to remember all the variations.

@MatthewPTguy, I love this thread! I've tried most of the listed favorites-- and love having all the others to find out about!

@Sunnier if you can get on some whistlepig 10 year that is another good one. It is a rye whiskey but you will like it.

There are a lot of bourbons you could bring. Pappy is good but only at a retail price. If you can get some Weller Antique 107 you will know what Pappy 10 aka Old RIP Van Winkle tastes like

I personally prefer Basil Hayden, but also like JimB Black or Double Barrel for casual drinking. Picked up a bottle of Woodford Reserve Rye whiskey on sale today, drinking it now, but it’s just OK.

My taster tells me I like Jim Beam Black too... doesn’t have to be top shelf to like it! Ezra Brooks makes a regular appearance at my house...

Picked up this "Texas Bourbon" recently. Dangerous stuff... very smooth and tasty, it'll sneak up on you after a few.

Here's a few of my faves from my cabinet. Toasting the occasion of this post and enjoying a little glass of Pappy neat right now. Gotta conserve on that one though. Down to my last bottle and it's impossible to find.

Woodford Double-Oaked is my go-to every day sippin' bourbon. Buy it by the case to get a better price per bottle. I like it more than Blanton's and it is easier to find.
