So I bought some 4 Roses last weekend and had 1 drink out of it before my wife finished it off. I tried Larceny next, and it was ok. I see a lot of Old Forrester in this thread. Is that my next conquest?

How 'bout some Buffalo Trace ~ it's become my 'go to' bourbon in recent times. Good tasting whiskey without a crazy price . . .
It's readily available at the local grocery store here in my village.
I saw a pallet of BT at Costco last week ~ it's less expensive at my local Smart & Final store.

Unfortunately, Buffalo Trace has become the hot commodity around here. I was able to grab some earlier this summer and loved it. However, I learned that Bowman Brothers in Fredericksburg uses the same mash bill. So I grabbed a bottle of that and enjoyed it as well.

Bowman Brothers is owned by Sazerac which owns BT, Bowmans is a twice distilled BT mash then they distill it a third time and do their own barreling and aging. The small batch is good but if you can get the John J Bowman a single barrel that is even better, around 48 bucks.

That will be my next Purchase, John J Bowman a single barrel, I thought that as a Virginian bourbon so I'm even more inclined to try our local stuff.

Rumor has it, John J Bowman SiB is the same mash bill (Buffalo Trace Mash Bill #2) as Blantons.
As a former Virginian (born and raised in Virginia Beach, went to school at ODU), I love trying local stuff.
I have their small batch, single barrel, port finished bourbon, and their limited edition #20 gingerbread #2.
All really good stuff. I've blind tasted their small batch to Buffalo Trace and their single barrel to Blantons multiple times - with the Bowman stuff always being my favorite

Big fan of the Russell's. Local place was discounting to $29.99. I need to stock up for the winter.

Thanks for that tip, that will be my next collection as I have pretty much tried all I could get my hands on with the BT family. Its good to hear from a local native, ODU is still here and Va Beach is getting a little too political for me, so I stay in Norfolk where it's like a Russian rullet when it comes to shootings.

My family is still in VB area and I go back to visit a time or two a year. Graduated in 2019 and moved shortly after so still pretty damn familiar with the area.

It's not my favorite either, but if you follow a shot of Screwball up with a shot of Chambord - it's pretty damn good. Little PB&J action

It is great, some of the best full bodied bourbon, very similar to Old Forrester single barrel and 1910. The Michters rye is great as well.
