Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

A very beautiful October afternoon.

 

Jack Daniels Green Label.....VERY hard to find. I did pick up a case a couple of months ago down in Texas.

 

Was able to get a pretty big score this morning all at retail. Not to mention meeting some like minded whiskey enthusiasts with some great conversation and learned new things. This is a pretty cool chase...now to actually getting to the taste....

 

Current favorite is the Russell 13 year. Wish I had never tried it…..I’ll probably never be able to find it again

I'm not the biggest fan of JD, but the liquor guy was really excited about it, talking about how it hasn't comes out in a long time and we of the taste notes. I'm pretty happy with it, smells like JD but tastes more like a bourbon. Not getting a lot of the banana flavors that others are, but it's tasty.

Barrel is really tasty. Got some heat to it.

Blanton's I got.....well, just because I get it any time I see it I'll get it.

 

Better neat than on the rocks.

 

Found it on the shelf at one of my local stores in Texas. Bought one to try it out. Cheers!

 

Got the call that Eagle rare, old Ezra, Buffalo Trace and Weller Antique were hitting the shelves. Manager would sell the Weller Antique but I got all the rest. Good day!

 

Love that Eagle Rare. I only find one or two bottles a year down here, so to see 12 on the shelf turns me a light shade of green.

 

Eagle rare is one of my favorites, but that Old Ezra 7, didn't like it.

 

Might be my favorite release of the year so far.

 

Today was a good day! They had plenty of the Weller special reserve but I already have a bunch.

 

That 4roses small batch select is top notch.

 

Good to hear! The guys at one of the stores highly recommended it.

 

Finally found some, it's really good but for half the price I would buy the JD Single Barrel Barrel Proof they are that close, imho.

 

I haven't read through all 69 pages, but I cast my vote for Jameson Black Barrel.

 

Garrison brothers single barrel is decent

can't go wrong with any Blanton's straight up otherwise bullit for mixed drinks.

 

Usually stick with Buffalo trace, but this is a nice change!

 

Spent most of last week in a cabin in the middle of nowhere for our anniversary. Finally opened a unicorn I found last year.

 

Looks like heaven dude….awesome!!

 

Perfect time to crack it open! That’s one of my favorites.

 

Tonight I’m opening some new ones while my brother is visiting. The Calumet is very good.

 

Agreed. Random LS is MT, hungover as shit. Asked the guy if he had any Antique Collection as a joke and he walked out of the back with it.

 

Calumet has a 15 year I really want to try. A lot of good whiskeys for less than the $115 it takes to walk out with a bottle; so it's tough to convince myself to pull the trigger.

 

That was my thoughts exactly. So I figured I would try their entry level bourbon first before buying the more expensive ones.

 

I'm a big fan of Jack...will have to try the 10 year old.

 

I have to say, this being a Toyota truck site, some of us would not blink an eye at dropping $100.00 for a bottle of spirits for a nice drink.
Yet, we cringe and do the math and install parts, swap em out for something else all the time.
And, I'm ok with it as to me it's money well spent.
I'd delay a blower for months if I could get a few boxes of 1964 Padrons with Hibiki's best in a heart beat. lol
