Being a Texas boy I am kinda partial to Texas Bourbons

 

Speaking of syrup, a co-worker started making syrup as a hobby this year. I bought a jar from him, and one of the uses he says he uses it for is in coffee and in old-fashions. I finally tried it just with whiskey (Knob Creek) and liked it a lot. I've tried the Knob Maple before and thought it was way to strong and sweet, using the real syrup gave it the maple taste but not overpowering.

 

Love me some Garrison Brothers! I’ve had the Single Barrel, the Small Batch, and the Honeydew and all have been amazing! Just wish it was easier to find around my area (Eastern Iowa). Cheers!

 

Hopefully it will get easier for you all out of state. They are working on wider distribution.

 

Garrison brothers is on the shelf at literally ever liquor store in my area. But it’s also very close to my area.

So I have been walking in and just buying something different every 2 to 3 weeks. I bought this Blade and Bow. Never seen it or heard of it, but I am not up on all the whiskey/bourbon these days. It is really really good!

 

Blade and Bow is a good one. Great daily drinker!!

 

Yeah I just walk in and buy something that is under $80 and ai never had before. It is very good.

I am not a traditionalist and do not drink it on the rocks or straight. I use just a little Coke. Tonight I am using Simply lemonade mixed with it and it is surprisingly pretty good.

 

That is an amazing score!! that stuff is impossible to get even if priced way above retail.

 

What does all the bourbon fanatics think about Bib & Tucker?

 

I have never had it , so I am curious to hear feedback.

 

On our trip up to Crooklyn found these hard to find Bourbons and completely overpaid for both by triple their retail. Can't wait to give them a try this weekend.

 

Yeah, brother swears by it with his cigars. I had it, it was nice but for me, not knock your socks off like the Suntory Hibiki's.
Everyone of their variations are superb. Their water has virtually no iron in it and it shows in their whiskeys.

 

Found some good bottles in CO.

 

Went with the Jack to finish my night, 130 hits like a mule.

 

I almost pulled the trigger for a bottle till I saw the criminals asking for $20.00 shipping for ground. WTF?

 

Yeah that sounds about right for their shipping cost. I’ve ordered some pappy cigars for a client of mine and the shipping was high as well.

 

Found a bottle of smoke wagon uncut unfiltered in CO.

 

I saw that on a menu in a whiskey bar: $2500. Looked online and bottles go for $10,000 and up. Its good. But not $10,000 good.

Yeah I'm not into it for anywhere near that. I was able to trade a bottle and some cash for it. It's crazy what some of this stuff goes for these days.

 

I have the 2nd release. It's pretty good. There's a reason why so many people private label the MGP stuff.

 

Found this at Costco today for $19.99. Should be a good option for a coffee liqueur drink. Has anyone tried it yet?

 

It's pretty popular in AZ. Im not much of a coffee drinker but I've heard good things. Especially the morning after a late night.

 

I tried it but liked this more. Not sure you will see it in Texas, it's made in upstate NY the one on the left Taconic Distillery.
