I completely agree! I have a bottle of this myself. I mostly enjoy it neat but I’ve also found it works amazingly well in an old fashioned. The higher proof helps it hold up to the other ingredients in the drink without tasting watered down. Definitely one of my go to bottles.

this particular batch is incredible... better than the B517 a couple of years ago that won that big award, I'm about to run out and am tempted to buy a case to hoard

That’s the boss’s (my wife’s) call. Lol. She looks the other way with all my truck, whiskey, gun, cigar, etc hobbies that I don’t argue. Small victories.

Same here. First time I’ve seen it in the “wild”. Happened upon a place today that randomly had several bottles on hand. Price was $45. Never had it before so I only picked up one but will definitely go back if it lives up to the hype.

Balcones Texas Rye. 50% ABV. This stuff is delicious. Cocoa and chocolate nibs all day. My wife says it smells like cherry, caramel, and black licorice. I pick up more fruit and chocolate on the nose.

Damn good. Gonna have to find another!

Definitely gonna have to try it in a old fashioned. Probably one of the reasons I rarely make them is the water down effect...

Im definitely gonna have to find another C919 again. Ive seen a couple of A120 and have been temped to grab one.

Love this stuff. So much better than regular Woodford Reserve and not a whole lot more expensive. Tons of vanilla. Sweet tobacco and leather.

Have you had the Old Forester 1910? I'm pretty sure it's double oaked as well. One of my favorites.

When you have teenagers, prepare to lock down; top shelf won't be enough or you'll get watered down bourbon. We've got an entire lockable cabinet now because of them.
