Yep, same here. A couple years ago you could find it at almost any liquor store you went to. Not the case any more. That’s why I grabbed this one when I saw it.

Thanks for the bday wishes! I cracked open the Blanton’s that day so there was definitely some good whiskey flowing!

    Flux capacitor!
Pappy had a promotion going on that if you purchased their bourbon pure maple syrup you are entered to win a 12 year old bottle of pappy. I got my syrup and my pappy glass yesterday. The syrup is very tasty! Still waiting to see if I’m lucky enough to win the contest.

Those are about double (or higher) what the secondary market prices them at. I got to do a Van Winkle flight a year or so ago. The Old Rip 10, Lot B 12, and then PVW 15 and 23, plus an old bottling of 20.

They’re great, but even after checking those off my bucket list I can’t imagine trying to chase them or pay those prices.

Yup...I just don't get the bottle hype for PVW. At msrp, sure grab them. They are rare and great to pull out at a special occasion. There's no way I would ever pay over msrp for them. So many great bottles for a fraction of the price...

Went out to restock today, the Makers PS is my favorite and originally had 2 bottles but found out the store has 500 in stock so I swapped it out for the Four Roses. The New Riff was recommended, it has a higher rye amount in the mash bill, not exactly my preference but I can live with it.

This one is really good. The oak shines through nicely and has lots of caramel taste. I have the 11.5 as a backup when i burn through this guy

I hear that anything with 60% or more alcohol in it kills the rona. So it was a good excuse to finally open this one.

Not sure how this thread passed by me without me seeing it. I’ve got a few bottles right now:
Old Forrester 1920 prohibition style (still my fav right now)
    Angle’s Envy
And just bought some Black Feather bourbon...pretty good stuff I think
