Favorite bourbon/ whiskey...

This is my current favorite

 

After about 8 months of searching (these are hard to find in Iowa), finally able to snag one of these today....and on my bday no less. I’d say it was meant to be. Sláinte!

 

Your not kidding, took me 2 years to find another bottle in Iowa.

 

If you are a fan of Balvenie and like a little peat but not too much, look for Peat Week or Week of Peat. ~$110/bottle. One of my favorites

 

This bourbon was recommended for me to try. Has anyone tried this one before?

 

Not yet. They’ve had it at the local Costco and it caught my eye. Let me know what you think.

It was $150. It taste so good! One of my new favorites!

 

I’ve not heard of this but Rutledge is a legend. Former master distiller at 4 Roses.

 

Gotta say I am fairly disappointed in this. While it is smooth it is also bland, anyone else try it?

 

Agree on the JD single barrel. Its good but for the money there is a lot stuff that is better and cheaper.

 

Try it neat, ice probably brings the proof way too low

 

Not even the proof it's the lack of flavor, I tried it both ways.

Currently sampling my Flaviar tasting kit which includes a “wheat whiskey” kinda unusual and doesn’t have the “twang” of a Rye or spicy sweetness.

 

No idea, maybe you got a dud. I’ve had a few bottles of the barrel proof version and they’ve all been tasty, easily the best thing in the JD line

 

Also a Flaviar member. Really enjoying it so far. Wheated Whiskey definitely has a mellow flavor profile. Enjoy

 

Finished my Flaviar pack and now moving onto these...

 

Titos Vodka

 

Last year we used to be able to pick this up at a local gas station liquor store, now it is harder to find or the price is high. Hope you had a good b day with some drinks.

 

I see the Buffalo Trace peeking over the shoulder of the JD ~ BT has been my 'go to' whiskey of late. I'm pretty fond of it right now . . .

 

Hands down thr best bottle of OF I've had...Just wish the price was a little lower. Atleast I was able share with good company.

what are you paying for the Weller 12 in your neck of the woods? It’s about 250 per bottle, if you can find it in SoCal.

 

$26 @ total wine

 

I paid $100/liter bottle

 

Yeah i could see that liquor gets marked depending on supply

 

The van winkle was about $200 a shot

 

But club 33 bar charges for the exclusiveness

There are plenty of good options at every price point, I would not pay more than MSRP for things like Weller or Blanton’s both in protest of the price gouging, and also because there are so many choices
