I had some of this and the rye at the bar on Valentines.

I thought it was very good, will definitely go in the cabinet.

What is your take on the McKennas? Saw some today for 70 bucks but didn't want to pull the trigger without some input on it.

You should be able to get it for 40 a bottle. 70 is insane.

    But it is very tasty.

A couple of amazing scotch picks from the internet... the 2008 is a good one if you like peated scotch, the 1997 is basically a holy grail Glenfiddich (22yr cask strength)

^^^^ Thanks for the answers. I stopped in 5 different places Friday looking for another bottle of Makers RC6, didn't find any. But in looking I saw such variation in prices from store to store on the same products, so I just don't get how they set their prices. Normally it is a few bucks difference but there were swings of 15 dollars.

Old Fitzgerald, being in Oregon, I've yet to find it but when we lived in Colorado we were able to get it and when we lived in the panhandle of Texas and ran a Conoco station, we had friends that ran a liquor store that ordered it by the case. That whisky was 100 proof bonded, higher proof whiskies were always purer and I never had hangovers from bonded whisky, but many times I had to put a foot on the floor to keep the bed from spinning when I had been drinking lower proof whiskies, especially when mixed with sugary sodas. Now days our strong drinks are based on tequila or rum and I do well with them.

I'm just starting my collection. I don't particularly care for what I call "Proofy" scotch. Meaning my mouth feels like it has a swig of Isopropyl Alcohol in it. And I don't care for peaty/smoky. So this is what I've found I prefer so far.
