A few suggestions from things I learned on my trip. Most of the distilleries will release different bottles daily sometimes allocated bottles. Buffalo Trace gift shop typically opens at 9am but you can wait outside earlier. Buffalo trace typically rotates between Blantons, EH Taylor small batch, Buffalo Trace, eagle rare and different Wellers.

Michters Fort Nelson in downtown Louisville will drop allocated bottles once a day but at a random time of the day. Get on the waitlist for the bar upstairs. They have some very good bottles available to try but they can be very expensive. I was able to get a bottle of Michters 10 year rye, Michters single barrel rye and Michters Barrel Strength Fort Nelson Reserve (I filled the bottle in person and have my name on it). They also have a tasting room at Fort Nelson in the middle of all the barrels but you need to make reservations.

If you go to Heaven Hill try to do their whiskey connoisseur tour you may have the opportunity to buy an allocated bottle afterwards.

If you want to go to a very cool speak easy bar look up Hell or High Water. Make reservations way in advance. They have some great bourbons and mixed drinks. They have also have a license to sell full bottles. I picked up an Old Forester Single Barrel Barrel Strength Kentucky Derbi from there. Make reservations ahead of time.

If want to try some amazing bourbons at a decent price go to Evergreen Liquors off of Market Street in Louisville. Since they sell some food you can grab some snacks and sit at the bar for hours trying different bourbons. The bartender was very knowledgeable and made some great suggestions! It’s a great place to go to!

Been tough finding much around here lately, though my wife did manage to pick up a Taylor Single Barrel a couple weeks ago. Decided to expand my selection a little today and picked these up. Heard good things about the Baker’s from some others on here. The Suntory is an experiment to see if it has some of the same tasting notes as the Hukushu, which my wife actually likes.

I wouldn’t consider myself a connoisseur of bourbon but I do know when I like them. I would vote the 18 and 19 as my top two. I didn’t rank them at the time but I know they were all enjoyable. Have you tried Old Forester The Presidents Choice? That was my favorite even over the Birthday Bourbons.

What was the bourbon from North Carolina that keeps getting mentioned here? Small distiller iirc.

Proudly made in Gimli Manitoba, Canada. How about a 50 Year old bottle of Crown Royal Canadian Whiskey in the original box with the original Purple Bag and 1973 seal still intact. Going to drink this one on my 50th Wedding Anniversary.

Yeah the knob creek is good, 75 seems ok in my neck of the woods. Iowa the 9 year runs you 45 to 55 so 70 for the 12 seems alright

Reservoir is gooood stuff. I have a few different offerings from them. Their 100% wheat and 100% corn mash bills are both great, but probably only to a whiskey lover.

I order from them an have it delivered to that place in Evanston.
