Pretty easy sipper, not bad for a NY bourbon.

The only Beam product I like, but prices are getting crazy. I normally find it around 60 but this place in Myrtle Beach was just a little outside.

    Dang. $40 here in price-controlled Utah. :(

If you haven't tried their 1910, try it next. I like it better than the 1920 (but I still like the 1920).

I haven't been to the Four Roses well in a while, this is pretty good stuff. The idea of using select single barrels to make a small batch style certainly makes sense.

I like their single barrel the best. The small batch is pretty good. The regular four roses is what I buy for egg nog.

This is more money than the single barrel by at least $10, which I didn't understand until it was explained about the selection of "single barrels' to make these. The $20 version also works well removing bugs from your headlights :D.

The Uncle Nearest 1856 is pretty good. This is the double pour the nice bartender in the Delta Lounge gave me for the cost of a single, presumably because I'm such a nice guy.

Had another bourbon night last night and I came to realize that people with little to no bourbon experience give the most honest answers. Maybe because they have no preconceived notions or ever heard of "Pappy."
The easy winner was Eagle Rare, they found it smooth and would most likely buy it for themselves. There is a Stagg Jr in the back and the JD SBBP, they enjoyed them too but high proof is something you have to build up to. Tin Cup was okay, Black Dirt not so much.

Picked this up because somewhere I heard a good review, well it's ok. Pretty good nose a little dusty, palate is sweet to start but hits with rye spice and then it totally disappears. No finish, no afterburner nothing, never had a bourbon do that before. I even had the fiancé try it and she hates the burn, she couldn't believe it, she said it evaporated on her tongue. I am sure it will be popular with noobs and people who can't deal with the burn.

    Keeping with the Beam Theme.

KC 12 and 15 worth the price point? Doing some traveling and want to narrow down what I'm looking for.

Given up on finding a bookers so.. who cares.

I really like KC 12 but hard to find it anywhere locally now. Last year, I paid ~$60 for it. That's a good price. I saw a bottle a couple of months ago at $90. Too rich for my blood.

Well, since it's St. Paddy's Day, and I have no Middleton Very Rare on hand :( it will be either Jameson (basic Jameson) or Bushmills (16 year or 1608 on hand)... Suggestions being taken for the next 3.5 hours :D

I'm east coast and our ABC stores don't have it. Ran across it on base actually. Loved it and I regularly bought bottles, but for some reason they stopped and now only carry the rye.

I need to see if I can get it through total wine.

I've got that Green Spot on the shelf as well... but, I've never tried the Dingle or even seen it for that matter. I'll be curious to see what you think about it!

Ok, so the wife had a little surprise for me after dinner :D...
    upload_2023-3-17_23-8-20.jpg

A little 4-pack Jameson Sampler and some local (cuz that's what cool kids do) Almond Toffee....

IPA edition: not bad, not my thing!

    Black Barrel: Ok, but...

    Stout edition: Yuk!!!

Original: Much better, and uh what the hell did she do w/the contents of the big bottle???? Someone's been hitting that one w/o me

Local Toffee: This was actually really good (it's called Karen's Krunch)

Normally, I'm not much of a fan of 'spin-offs' and 'local anything'.... Like when it comes to candy, no dark edition, no holiday mint crap, etc... Just give me the original. Also, most local treats seem to taste like that came out of your neighbors kitchen (and not in a good way), but I was super surprised w/this one!!!

Confession: My all time favorite Irish Whiskey is Midleton Very Rare, but since moving here to the Coast we can't get our hands on it. I believe price on it has gone up significantly as well. In Vegas, we would generally pay about $119 bottle, and I'm hearing folks are giving $250 plus these days.

If I'm not drinking Midleton, my next choice would be Bushmills 1608 or 21yr Single Malt. I like the peaty (smokey) flavor that it includes in its flavor profiles, but it's not overbearing like an aged Scotch.

I need to revisit a couple that I have on the shelf... Green Spot and Red Breast 12yr
