Never tried this, but heard good things. For $21, what could go wrong?

I tried their 7 year , not my flavor profile. I see you are trying to create a little Stagg look with the antlers in the back. :D

Just about anything from Balcones distillery.

There was one dad brought back from Kentucky called Cuervito that is fantastic. Can’t find it anywhere but Kentucky.

@MatthewPTguy have you ever thought about a poll on ice vs. no ice? To me the ice waters it down too much. I've heard the argument that it "opens it up". Just thought it might be interesting.

I use a large ice ball.... it waters it down less than cubes.

Looks like you just started it!
I’m technologically challenged, so I’m not sure I could add a poll… but I’m open to a tutorial.
I like mine neat. But if someone hands me a glass with rocks in it, I’m not turning it down!

You should see Thread Tools just below your thread title at the top of the page. Click that then select Add Poll.

    Options might be...

    Neat
    Ice
    Depends on the Whiskey
    Depends on my mood

    Something like that.

You can also allow multiple selections.

    Mom drinks it neat so…..

I’ll generally make a Kentucky mule minus the lime or other garnish/accoutrements. I like the bourbon to be smooth and the ginger beer to have the bite to it. Beam is fine for this for me.

Not really much taste/quality difference between a $20/750mL and a $50/750mL despite what their marketing tells you.

Having said that I’m partial to bookers, Elijah Craig barrel proof and knob creek 12 if I’m going neat or an ice cube or 2, Mom only does woodford double oaked. Which is just above (imo) and worth the extra scratch of the typical bulleit/makers/etc that occupies the top shelf of bars/restaurants.

I’ve had pappy and yeah it’s great, but it’s a hype thing where anyone that tells you they can tell the difference between the aforementioned and it just want to show you the size of their wallet not how refined their palate is. :notsure:

I think most will disagree. Taste varies hugely between even that price range.
But just cause it’s a $90 bottle doesn’t mean I think it taste better than a few of my $35 staple bottles

This was my point. I was referring to differences between beam & bulleit or beam & makers being no different. I guess I should have clarified a little better
