Very solid pour, like Pac12 said it's one of my favorites too. A little more flavor than ER, 91.4 proof so you can enjoy several.

The little bit of Blanton's I had left, called for a CAO cigar on a cool evening.

Is garrison worth the money? I've passed a few times. Too many lower priced bottles with less variable reviews.

It really depends on your preference for whiskey. Most of their stuff is very hot. It’s popular in my area because I live in Texas and it’s a Texas based Whiskey.

Post 3184 on Nov 4th, I posted a picture of the Balmorhea Garrison, that is one of the most complex tasting whiskeys I have ever had and it is so good, but it is also around 170 dollars. Two weeks ago I sampled the cask strength thought it pretty good but opted to not buy it, I will however get another Balmorhea at some point.

Me too. I walked down the bourbon aisle and checked out and decided to walk back to the aisle again afterwards. The manager just put those two on the shelf from the main office. So I just happened to be there at the right time.

This is a good way to end a long day. Started with the Elmer T Lee and ended with the Weller Single Barrel. The single barrel was amazing! 8B34D47C-BED6-4AC1-BFE5-7A3482DBD4B8.jpg

I'll be honest with you, it's good really good :D. So smooth, even my fiancé who doesn't like the "burn" from bourbon tried it and said, " you better hide it."

First off I’m surprised my wife let me put these out in view although it is in the basement in my game room/office. Anyways, it’s not as nice or elaborate as most I’ve seen on here but it better than under the stairs for me.

Said screw it and got pours of some heavy hitters while in AZ. Both were fantastic but not worth what people ask for them on secondary.

Where did you do your pours?

We use to hit the Whiskey Attic (down by UNLV) a couple of times a year, and if you got the right host you could get then to do a "personal" flight at a decent price!

I think the name of the other Whiskey bar we use to hit was called Oak and Ivy or something like that... I believe it moved or closed down though. :notsure:

Oh, there was a place in Town Square that was ok, but prices were high and selection was kinda... eh!!!!

Almost forgot, prices aren't cheap, but if you make it over to Craft Steak (Tom Colicchio's place), they have some incredible offerings. If I remember right they have a few 50 year scotches (too rich for my blood) and pretty much anything else high end that you've ever wanted to try. I dropped a few hundred last time I was there on a couple of small pours.

    Anyhow, enjoy man!!!!

Side note: Beam handles have switched over to plastic from glass (not sure how long ago this happened). But it's nice being reminded of where you *should* be getting bourbon from #bottomshelfwarriors

In Vegas there are two places I go for pours of good stuff. Eureka and Double helix. Double helix is the one at town square and is a bit pricey as you mentioned but they have a big selection.

These pours were on a trip to flagstaff az at a place called whisk and whiskey. Pappy 15 was 60 and the Heaven Hill 17 was 50.
