The oldest flew in from out of town with his gal, the second oldest and his gal are in town - and coupled with the two still at home - we're all going to spend the day on the boat enjoying the lake....

First time in over a year the whole family is together, pretty darn happy to see them all under the roof again.

Happy Father's Day to all. As a stepfather there were "Trials and Tribulations " for sure. Why does it have to be Trials and not just Tribulations, haha. Unfortunately Danielle won't be here as she's starting her new life adventures in Fla. Winter vacations, fishing, oh yeah.
As for plans, getting pool ready and cooking out with our neighbors. Oh yeah forgot to mention the most important part, Beer!
    Menu- Grilled Steak and Salmon
    Teriyaki Chicken
    Burgers and Jalopena Brats
Watermelon/Blueberries and a assortment of sides.

Some music and corn hole to complete the day. SALUTE!!!

I know exactly what you mean. Here's my recognition that I've received:
    • 15 year old asked if he could go to Denver with his friend to HIS dad's for Father's Day...
    • 17 year old asked "what do you want to do for Father's Day?" Me- not sure..what would you like to do? Her- I have to work until 7:30, if you come pick me up we can do whatever you want IF you can drive me to my boyfriend's house......UGH!
    • 12 year old says "you're not my dad, youre my stepdad, so I don't have to do anything.
3 step kids. I've done everything I can to give these kids a good life after their mom ditched us all. I'm sure appreciation will come later, or at least the expressing of it. I'm not one to need the public expression, though just a hair of appreciation being expressed would not hurt my feelings :D

Happy Father's Day if you guys haven't been told yet:amen:

Happy Fathers Day @Almaboy just know you're doing the right thing taken care of those kids. Someday they'll realize what you've done for them. But until then they're going to be selfish little dicks. Just know it's not all for nothing. Anyone can "donate" and be a dad. It takes a real man to step up and be a father and provider.

Happy Father's Day to all you guys in here!

Back atcha Brother!! You've told me your story...I can genuinely throw appreciation and kudos your way too...not that you're interested in the recognition. Just keep doing what you are doing and one day the light will shine bright in your direction.

    Happy Father's Day homie!

Almaboy, that's why I wished there were only Tribulations. It's a very tough role to take on, especially like me, you, and the rest of the stepfathers out there just trying to do everything in their power to make them happy and not playing I'm your father now role. It almost cost me my marriage a few times. I just kept telling myself she will grow out of it and mature. By the time she went into college , we started to get along haha, but now we are the best of friends. Unlike your situation, I only had to deal with 1 girl so I can only imagine. My best advice is to hang in there and eventually and hopefully they realize what a great husband and stepfather you are. Enjoy your day Almaboy

I know Mark "Almaboy" isn't looking for recognition, but that Man is doing all this on his own. Mom split and he stepped up. Mark has a huge heart.
I'm in the same boat is you, just one girl. I've been with her since she was six and she is now 15. Luckily we have a very good relationship and she has told me before that I am more of a father than her real dad. So I can say I'm very lucky to have a kid that gives me that much recognition. Has never once given me the you're not my dad BS. Which I'm very grateful for. Very sensitive child. But I still hope I get a card LOL

Amen! @Almaboy is the real deal of a father. Give it time brother. I'll come around. As long as what you're doing is the right thing in your heart, keep doing it. Keep in mind the reason they act that way is because they feel at HOME. If they didn't, they wouldn't feel comfortable expressing themselves that way. Happy Father's Day brother from another mother!

I know all about the stepdad thing. When I got married I had an 10 year old stepdaughter. I did everything she asked of me but when she turned a teenager OMG! Well lets just say it was the majority of the reason im divorced now. Anyway I had a daughter of my own with my ex. and she is the greatest thing that ever happened to me.

AMEN brother!! Not only do I feel a connection initiated from the love of trucks and the nonsensical banter on this forum, but I've made some real deal friends that I just don't get to see as often as I'd like.

Happy Father's Day to everyone that is some form of "parent" and that includes the single dudes out there that "baby" their trucks. You guys are all my friends...even the guys I don't like....IE @COMiamiFan . That guy is a real mean man and you should all stay away from him.

another 20 hours into it this weekend. Man OCD is a mother F'er. was just going to mask the front and paint...but then i found paint chipping which lead to the sander coming out which lead to eve's and overhangs and up on the roof. I was out there for almost 7 hours before i put a roller to the house. Our front yard has a hill right next to the house so the ladder work is sketchy at best. I even had to paint the fascia boards on the front side by hanging off the roof. I did get three gutter downspouts back on the house though. Now the only two that are off are in the back yard. Starting to come together.

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Visited a friends fish farm for the day. Had a blast. Not really fishing honestly... But it was fun for the kids and they learned a lot.

An 8 hr, turned 10 hr drive from Denver to Alamo, NM.

Upside: my kiddos are here for the summer!! Best Dad Day gift! (And a sweet Dewalt 20v drill from my baby). Hahaaaa!

Downside: some jack off involved in a shooting in Alamo decided to run for cover in a local tourist trap and hold 13 some odd folks hostage for 4 hrs. Needless to say, I want to kill the fuxktard myself for making me have to drive an extra 2 hours. He's since been detained and all folks are unharmed...well, except him.
