I didn't do anything with the spare. Only a 1 inch difference. In a pinch it will work. Plus I'm planning on 35s or 37s shortly so I didn't want to spend extra on a 33 spare

Did these a couple months ago and forgot to post , cross drilled and slotted rotors and new pads. Hopefully these rotors last longer than the oem ones. They seem to only be good for about 35k with mountain driving and towing that I do. New tires are coming next and probably some power steps

Ok so new tires are really big , and i am in now cutting things out . Had to cut both body mounts. Also need to massage the pinch welds a little to get her down the road. Also jad to cut front plastic and bumper caps. The front plastic and bumper caps will just be temporary until i get the coastal offroad bumper on. Shout out to @JRS,@Fotnot and @pvn.beluga for some advice on fitting the 325/60r20 tires. Hopefully mount tomorrow and then final cutting for full range of motion of the suspension

Installed the hypertech speedo calibrator in prep for my tires this afternoon. Couple of tips , one tape the data cord to the module securely. I read in another thread that you want to leave it connected for future changes and snake it through where you can get to it but i went a step further and taped it so it cant be accidentally unplugged. Also i would put a towel over your column cover to prevent scratches on the column. Keep a magnetic stick handy. The clips in the kick panel were a pain. Keep a interior clip tool handy to deal with those little bastards.20220428_085944.jpg 20220428_090723.jpg 20220428_094208.jpg

I have to say after driving it........ those guys that say the need gears for 35s and 33s ......have lost their damn mind. Im guessing theyve never ridden around in a 4cyl jeep undergeared with 33s before. THAT is something that needs regearing. This is not. I bumped my pedal commander from -1 city to +1city and any slight loss of acceleration
Is corrected. Yall just looking for something to blow 1800 bucks on lol

So i think a new suspension is in order. My rear shocks are rusted pretty bad and my rear springs look shot. They seem to go down just a little bit on either side of the axle then come up a tad. Almost like they are bending backwards a little. Any thoughts? I planned to replace the suspension eventually but was going to just do some coachbuilder shackels in the meantime ...... now im thinking a dobinsons kit would prob be timely now ?????

Update: my speedo calibrator does work, apparently you have to disconnect the battery for it to recognize it. I figured this out unintentionally when i disconnected the battery to weld my bmc. Also determined the gps adjustment is nearly useless, i had to use the the tire size, i had to fudge the numbers a tad because all i knew was the oem tire claimed specs not actual, and this thing needs actual measured sizes. After i tuned it in got it within 1-2mph which i can totally live with speedo 70, gps 68-69.

I had to cut my finders up a ton too. I would suggest cutting out some sheet metal and screwing it onto your fenders so mud doesn’t get all over.

Luckily the majority of what i had to cut out was in the front fenderwell and bumper. Thats being replaced with a winch bumper so it wont be stsying long.

Very clean chop. Only thing to remember is now resell goes down since the frame has been tampered with. I learned this with my truck when I did the same thing.

Plus if i ever did sell it, it would be to a private buyer anyway. What youre talking about only matters if trading to a dealer. Just like all the modifications arent worth anything lol theyre worth exaxtly what someones willing to pay for it. Lol

So i had a really funky metal on metal noise after i did my bmc . I thought that i had got my body mount cushion too hot and melted them , however after getting under the truck to get ready to replace the the body mounts i realized that since the sdhq has an aggressive profile that slants back towards the cab and since when i put the plates on i tacked and then hammered it close to get a tight gap, it actually went far enough back to contact the metal body mount washer. That rubs against the bmc plate and sounded god awful. When i figured out what it was , i was able to get a sawzall in there and just cut the washer enough to get some space between them and it fixed the problem. Just.figured id add this in here in case someone runs into this problem in the future.

Also if anyone uses sdhq plates for the bmc, dont bother with the paper template its easier to just use the actual plate to mark your cuts, i used the template on the driver and just used the plate to mark the cut on pass and the pass side came out much cleaner. The template left too much gap at a weird angle that made it harder to weld

Took the bumper off in preparation for my coastal offroad bumper. Got the initial welds done on the first two pieces. Been awhile since i had real welding to do and took a bit for me to get back in the groove. My intial stich welds were too cold, but once i got the heat right we were in business
