I was considering the same. Either stock height or the middle setting. There’s something unsettling to me about running the stock springs with that much preload and the shocks not being extended travel. At 2.25”, you’ve lost quite a bit of downward wheel travel. If I’m wrong, someone correct my statement..

Not sure the true definition of extended travel. But the working, hollow oil/gas filled, portion of the shock body is about 1” longer than that of the factory shock and the amount of space between the bottom ring (stock height) and the 3rd ring (level setting) is probably similar.
I should have taken better measurement and comparison pictures between factory and Falcon stuff but was pressed for time.

You also have to keep in mind what these are and their abilities. It’s an upgraded leveling kit for moderate off road capabilities. It will handle the vast majority of what folks see off road.
It is not nor is it advertised as some race/competition, rock crawling off road setup.
The folks that are really going to be crushing it off road know it and aren’t going to be looking at these kits.

From experience these are certainly far better than Bilstein 5100s, 6112s, and Fox 2.0s.

I would go to wager they are just as good if not better than the standard Fox 2.5s without resis and adjusters based upon build and technology characteristics.
But do not have first hand use of the 2.5s to be sure like I do the others listed above.

Like any kit they aren’t the right option for everyone. But they are a very solid option for a lot of folks and would be even more so if they did offer a preassembled full coil over option. To me that is their biggest downfall but in reality not a large one.
But I would say there would be a lot more sales of these across all the Truck platforms not just the Tundras if they did offer it as a fully assembled kit.

I got mine installed today. The Tundra now drives like a truck should. Plus they are sexy! I added 1" rear blocks and .25" strut top plate spacers (level setting). I did SPC UCAs and Firestone air bags with cradles too. Went with 295/70R18 Falken Wildpeaks on Method 314 wheels. I don't have a full vehicle photo yet.

    Glad you are liking them.
I am about a month in and they are great! Looking forward to getting a chance to put my Coachbuilder +1s in the rear.
I am really glad I went with the Falcons for my RCI Skid plates installed yesterday.
Looking forward to finally get to hit the trails with this thing.

Everyone seems to be quite happy with these Falcons. I think they have hit the mark pretty well on these trucks.

Here is a good side shot on an overcast day. I love how the wheels turned out!

just got the tax check back and am seriously considering pulling the trigger on these to get rid of my 3/1 spacer kit. anyone running them with 700 lb coils? I plan on adding a front bumper and winch in the future and don't wanna have to replace the coils then. I'm sure these will suit my needs as its a road/ tow rig with some mild overlanding planned also. Or would i be better off with a set of real 2.5 coilovers like the toytec kit. either way i'm upgrading my upper arms.

These are only compatible with OEM springs which are 700 lb coils.
Not sure what you mean by “real” coilover as these certainly are real Coilovers. Nothing fake about them.

didn't realize the factory springs were 700 lb springs, thanks its good to know. I guess I should have said completely assembled coilovers with a reservoir like kings, ADS, fox 2.5's.

The Group buy at 20% off on the Falcons ended last Monday. PM me if you are interested after reading the OP at https://www.tundras.com/threads/now...-2-25-leveling-kit-tundra.86448/#post-2177669 and you might be able to be included. Use OEM springs and must remove from old and add the Falcons.

last quick question I have before I make my decision. After reading the entire thread I didn't see anyone specifically running a 35/12.5/20 inch tire a couple of 295/70/18's which is pretty close but I just got my new tires. Do you know if I'll have an issue and if so can I just add a 1/4" spacer on the front for a little more clearance. Also I know its not necessary but I have a set of UCA I was waiting to install as I can't get my alignment 100% after 2 alignment shops.

Call TeraFlex customer service. They answer the phone and they answer questions. Literature limits tire size but I do not know why.

I’m going to be running 285/60/20 which is a 33.5 tall tire. 35 may be pushing it but backspacing is going to place a big role in that and if they fit, and how much you’re willing to trim. I could be wrong though. Guys running 35’s tend to have to run over a 3-3.5” lift and it looks tight.

So, did quite a bit of forest roads on our trip to the Ouachita forest, meant to post sooner but been quite busy. Let me just say the Falcon's were phenomenal ripping down forest roads at 40 plus MPH. Washboard, potholes, etc, no fear, just extreme confidence. I mean it's not a raptor but for $1500 it's about as bad ass a suspension you'll need unless you're planning on racing baja!!!! Just wanted to give an update. Cheers fellas.

well I got mine ordered up today, I know I'll be doing a bmc and some trimming to the front bumper and eventually replacing it. Also new upper arms. plenty of guys are running 35's on 6112's on the top setting so it should work, heck guys are running 37's with that set up. when I get it all in I'll report how it went.

So far been on the Falcons for about a month 6-700 miles or so and the truck rides and drives great.
Alignment was not terrible so I wanted to put some miles on it, retighten anything, and let the truck settle a little before having it aligned.
Still had Coachbuilder +1s to install as well. Half the folks seem to have their leaf spring bushings slide out like butter and the other half taking like 6 hours after torching and cutting. Schedule for the near future is going to be dedicated to building my buddy’s Tacoma since he leaves to head out west for a month and his truck needs to be done. So I was going to hold off on the shackles till I could dedicate a whole day to it in case I had bushings that are a pain.
Dropped the truck of for the alignment and figured I would ask how much for them to pop the Coachbuilders on while it was there for the alignment.
    The answer was $55!!!!!! Absolutely!!!!
Truck is aligned and the suspension is pretty much complete I just need to do my carrier bearing spacers real quick and rear TRD sway bar.
I really did not think the truck could ride and drive any better. I could not have been more wrong. The truck feels so planted and the back end stays straight as an arrow with the cab. No bed bounce, bed shudder, nothing just smooth and planted.

Falcons and Coachbuilder +1s are one heck of a setup!!! The stance is nice too! Will get some pictures later.

$55 to install shackles is SOOOO worth it. The oe bushing is hard to get out. I used the rental press with some long impact sockets to press the sleeve out. (Impact gun on the press) Took me a while to realize how to do that, but once i did it was much easier. Def not easy to do

Can confirm! I’ve had mine on since last October- towed the boat and the travel trailer using the tow/haul clickers and it’s night and day from the stock setup. I don’t think you can beat the Falcon setup at this price point.

I am clear $55 is a steal! With as crappy as my schedule is coming up was honestly ready to pony up to $200 just to have it done. So I can get out on the trails and not be fussing under the truck trying to finish up the install.

My buddy is a really good buddy and is a pastor that does the Lord’s work daily so figured I’d help him out a bit more than most folks.
Plus the plan is more for him to use my tools, I’ll sit back listening to some tunes on Radio U’s Throwback channel, drinking some ice cold Hint and point him to what he needs to be doing. I’ll be the extra set of hands when needed.

If I was closer to Utah/Wyoming I’d lend you a hand!
You put a lot of leg work into the Group Buy and saved a bunch of folks a lot of coin.

Took my first highway trip on these things. 200 mile trip in Southern Ky which had pretty decent interstates.
But this thing rides like a Cadillac! Overpasses, bridges, don’t even have a clue when you hit the thresholds.
The truck is very planted through the mountains. No bed bounce nothing.
Installed my carrier bearing drop today and relocated my rear differential breather up behind the tail light.
All done with the suspension finally!

Have the group buy folks received their Falcon kits yet or no? Looking to hear what everyone thinks of them. I might be in the market later this year or early next year.

Not anticipated to arrive until July. However one of the group was lucky and received. There are some others with installed sets who have provided positive feedback. E.g. @Black

Well she hauled the boat, the girlfriend, and two Labradors up to the lake this past weekend. First longer trip with the Falcons towing the boat, 2.5 hour trip 150 miles each way. averaged 10.8mpg which I was actually pretty pleased with. Boat/Trailer weight is a little over 5K. Plus probably 600lbs of additional weight in the bed in these photos. Definitely squatting some but not as much as I thought (Level setting).

I put the Falcons on end of February this year and continue to be super impressed with them, best money spent on the truck by far only regret is that I didn't do it sooner. This trip was no different, truck felt way more controlled than with the stock Bilsteins. I ended up running the rears on the 2nd setting and actually thought it was smoother than the stiffest 3rd setting for this setup.

1st time towing and hauling. Nothing major but figured I would give me thoughts.

1st I towed my tiller on a tiny little 5x8 trailer. So weight wise not really much to speak on. I have towed this with my Explorer, Silverado, and Expedition in the past. In regard to pulling it you have no idea it is back there. However since it is pretty light you feel it jump and the bigger bumps.

Though in the Tundra I did not really feel the jump like in the other vehicles. Though I have not towed with the Tundra before so I can’t say if it is the way the Tundra is built or if it is the suspension setup.
Setting it on 2 aside from noise there is no clue it is back there.

This morning I hauled 2 full beds of shit and I mean actual shit. Lots of organic matter for the garden I put it on setting 2 No sag at all. The truck was nice and planted and did not feel like the rear shocks were doing much work like the shocks did when I had a full bed in the past.
I forgot to switch back to setting 1 after dumping the first load got a ways down the road and the back end just did not feel right. Hard to explain but the bed just felt like it was really delayed when turning.
Pulled over and switched it back to 1 and back to normal.

These are my typical uses of towing and hauling for my truck. While all this can be done in a stock truck with ease it felt a lot better with this setup.

If one had a bed rack and roof top tent that they took on and off from time to time this setup would be really nice.
I off-road and the like but generally just do day trips so I don’t have crazy heavy loads just typical gear for a couple days so I don’t think I’ll need to swap it off 1.

Still very happy with this setup and highly suggest it.

This happened to me when I first got them, put the clicker on 2 for towing then accidentally switched it to 3 instead of 1 when I was done. Didn't notice anything really till I went over a bridge and the bridge span bumps made the truck feel like the back wheels were about to leave the ground! pulled over as soon as I could and put it back on 1..Falcon isn't kidding when they say dont put it in 3 unless loaded down.

Just an updated observation now that I have run these on some wash board roads. I took my truck out for it's monthly 4x4 testing and picked a close trail. As I drove up the mountain, I kept thinking that they must have graded the road since last time I drove up the road. After a second drive with my wife in the passenger seat she mentioned that the road was putting her to sleep, it was soft and not as harsh. That's when I realized that it was the Falcons that were making the road "smoother."
