What is techstream? Is this something I can do on my own?

Does this means that the Platinum trim can be made quieter with this?

Yes, had mine turned off today. It is definitely quieter. The jury is still out... At first, I loved it being much quieter, but the more I drove it, it sounds a little "nasally", if that makes sense. I'm going to get used to it, leaving it until at least the first oil change. I think the idea of fake sound is silly, so I will more than likely leave it off. On the funny side, my wife never paid attention and had no idea what I was talking about. She says, "sounds the same to me" LOL

I thought it was a joke too. They should have added the fake heat vents on the fenders while they were at it.

It is a computer program that Toyota and Lexus use to diagnose and make electronic changes to the vehicle. Yes , you can do it on your own if you buy the program and laptop. You can find them on ebay but I'm not sure about updates for the 2022 models. Probably not worth the cost unless you are servicing multiple vehicles.

What is a Limited DC? i only see a Limited on the site. (nvm its short for Dual Cab). When did people start labeling their trims packages to include the cab size lol?

Does the 1794 have this TechStream?

There are some things one available on Crew Cab and not Double Cab so I wondered if maybe this was something of those sorts.

I had mine turned off about 3 weeks ago. I'd much rather hear the real engine noise for what it is vs the fake v8 sound. Who knows, down the road maybe we can get some turbo upgrades and hear them more!

I'm waiting for the engine to develop a tapping or knocking sound to see if it is piped in to the radio as well. (sarcasm!)

Maybe that's why my truck is so quiet, it has the piped in silence of sitting in the service department.

Anyone know if the option to roll windows down with the fob is available in Techstream for the Limited trim (DC specifically)?

I’ll take delivery in a couple weeks and would love to have my list of techstream adjustments ready to have them do that day…

So I assume that if I tell the dealership that I want that activated, they should theoretically know what to do... I hate to assume anything, especially with the amount of goobers in the world these days...

So what are the go to changes that everyone is requesting?

I for sure want the fake engine disabled, but the the noise cancelling intact. Also the "windows down" key fob turned on. And if they will play nice, the seat belt chimes. Spend a lot of time on the family farm and don't want to be annoyed. (and yes, I wear my seat belt when actually driving on the road).

What am I missing? I don't have the truck yet, so I cannot check the back of the manual for all the different options.

Did you ever get around to checking this? I know another member said their Limited DC didn't have the option, so if yours also doesn't, maybe its safe to say the DC doesn't have the fake sound for whatever reason...

If so, that's one less thing for me to request of the Dealer when I take delivery next week (hopefully)...

just picked up a limited DC trd off-road with jbl speaker option. the tech guy did the "windows down" key fob and "windows up/down" with physical key. according to him my truck does not have the fake engine sound.

    So I'm not crazy?
We can lower all windows (sunroof optional too) with the remote, via Techstream settings, but there is no way to bring them back with with the remote when we lock the truck - correct?

I did all my Techstream changes last night(USB->ODB2 interface finally came in), and thought I was "seeing things." The option for window roll down with "transmit" is there (AKA: roll down windows with remote at "unlock") but I don't see the same option to bring them up with "lock"
    Go figure...

    PS:
If any one didn't know, you can elect to have your sunroof open, or not, with your windows.
I disabled mine, as when I open all windows remotley, I don't want the sunroof open too....just to get in the truck and have to close it.

    Side note:
With the "fake" V12 engine sound disabled, I can now hear the transmission shift, and also hear much better what the engine is doing for real. I like it. More of a real indication of how the thing is running and not a constant artificial sound to make it seem like "everything is peachy."

...and that seatbelt chime; ohhh how I missed you dead silence!

If the windows down feature is tied to unlocking, does that mean if turned on the windows go down every time you unlock, or is it still like “single press” unlocks, but a combo of presses unlocks and drops windows?

Thats what the tech at the dealership told me. Makes no sense to me why they would not include a way to raise them from the fob. Talk about half assing it lol.

edit to respond to jmay86...press and hold unlock. release when windows are at desired level. and yes, single press to unlock per normal.

    Single/normal presses to unlock.
1.5 sec long press (or longer) to activate the roll-down feature. Gotta keep the button pressed, as if you let it go all the windows stop; you can resume by press and hold for 1.5secs again...

    No kidding.
I can just imagine some random Toyota dev sitting there, coding this feature in, finished the 1st part, went to lunch....and forgot to add the "lock" function.

I don't know if ALL options are universal across all models (listed in TS< even if a truck does not have some features installed).
I can only go by what my Platinum shows.
    Using TS ver.17

...I may create a new "overview of TS" thread tomorrow, if any one is interested - listing all (visible to me) options, etc re: TS.
