Fake engine noise...

Loving my truck so far. It tows well with my new ATC 24' enclosed aluminum trailer and a Spec Miata inside. Can't really complain about anything on it. I'm getting about 18mpg around town and about 10mpg when towing whereas my previous '15 F350 diesel got about 12mpg either way with our previous Haulmark 24' enclosed steel trailer. The Tundra is working great and as expected for the first 1500 miles.

Is anyone aware if the dealer can/will cancel the fake engine noise that I understand is played through the stereo?

 

Seems to be hit or miss. Some dealers will do it but some claim ignorance and wont. Quite frustrating. Search this forum for Carista

Let the forum know where about you live. Might be someone near by with a Carista I have done 6 different trucks now with mine.

other things you may want to change
- ambient temp down to -2 degrees. Ac works WAY better
- all seatbelt chimes to off
- long hold on FOB unrolls all windows.
- lane change blinks from 3 to 5
- ensure the ANC ( noise cancellation) is on.

I have a headache and orientation problems if this shit is present in the vehicle. So does my older son. The rest of the family can't feel anything.

Yeah, I sold that car. The remaining vehicles are ancient enough and don't play "silence" or fake engine sounds through the speakers.

 

What I do is if someone wants it they can use it for free but they have to buy a Carista account for 30 days, so costs them $9.99 as mine expired. They also come to my town unless we happen to be going by each other

 

I guess you 'use the search function' fanatics aren't aware not everyone is an internet social media expert.
Some of these guys have never used social media in their lives.

Well said! If they would just read a little more carefully, they'd see that I asked a very specific question. One that I didn't get answered through my search efforts. That doesn't mean it's not there somewhere, but I just didn't find it.

The irony in this is that when you're trying to build a website with a growing number of participants, it only hurts that effort to be "Dicks" as you so aptly said. I would think anyone spending any time on this or any other forum would want that platform to grow so they get more enjoyment from it....

I've purchased the Carista obd bluetooth device and expect Amazon to deliver it this afternoon. Can you please explain the -2º reduction??? Am I reading your post correctly to say that the air temp (ambient) in the cab should be reduced -2º? Is that because the Toyota interior thermostat is off?

 

As you scroll thru the menus under Heat/Ac there is one for ambient temperature. You can adjust it up or down I believe about 4 degrees either way. Set yours at -2. Your AC works twice as good and heat works pretty much normal.

Would you know if this can be found in the 2.5gen too? Just tryna justify buying one of I can't find someone local.
Without the subscription, I would be able to read and reset error codes, is that correct?

 

Won’t work for 2nd gen AC. . You can go to the Carista site, enter your truck in supported vehicle link and it will show you everything it can do for your vehicle

I had a 2024 Platinum loaner for a week.
I didn't mind the engine noise, but I could see how it would get irritating after a while realizing it isn't really adding anything....

 

I’m a little confused. I did not see Toyota listed as a choice.
