My 2016 Tundra came with black bading emblems as part of the TSS package. 7 years later in the FL sun and they are faded and looking awful. Does anyone have any recommendations on the best way to get them looking good again? I'd rather not plasti dip spray them if I don't have to. Thanks.

Your options would be to replace them with new ones or paint the current ones. Id skip the dip and use actual paint, should last longer

Pics might help as well. Some of the trim restoring stuff might work.

Are they actual black emblems, or are they the black overlays?

Aren't they just overlays on top of the factory badges?

    Remove and replace?

Toyota made both. The TSS package is specific to the gulf states or southeastern toyota distributor (I can't remember which) so they may have used either one.

I'll try to get some pictures this weekend to post. That's a good question on the overlays vs factory badges. Is there any way to determine which they are?

They may be too far gone for the restoration products. It looks like the black is actually coming off. Any recommendations on paint if I were to spray them?

If you have to pull them off to sand and paint you might consider pricing new ones. It would certainly be easier. Which badges are they? Just the "Tundra" ones on the doors?

All of them. Including the grill Toyota symbol. If I do end up spraying them, I was planning on taping them out and spraying in place. It's a black truck, so I'm not overly concerned if some overspray gets between lettering. But depending on the price, it may be easier to just renew them. Thanks.

I’d use this situation as an excuse to dump the grill insert with the stock emblem and replace with a TRD Pro style.

Thanks everyone. So I determined they are just overlays. Has anyone replaced them before? Is it easy or difficult? I’m trying to find the most cost effective solution but still make it look decent.

    Here are some photos.
