    Hey all,

I have 2004 CC 4x4 with the TRD package.

It currently has some kind of coil over spacer up front and a 1 1/2” or so block between the axle and leaf springs in the rear.

Although I like the height of the truck, I just replaced the LBJs and want to remove the front spacer in order to improve the ride quality and improve the suspension geometry.

My question is about that rear block. I can’t seem to confirm if that is factory or not? Any ideas?

    Thanks in advance!

    Blocks were never factory.

It's best to use the terminology Toyota used when our trucks were made, just to be sure everyone here knows what type truck you have. It actually really matters when it comes to parts and lifts. There's a regular cab, an access cab, and a double cab. Which do you mean when you say crew cab?

Anyway, from the factory there are no front spacers, no rear blocks. And they're generally frowned upon, if you want to do things the "right" way. Best to remove them. Knowing exactly what front and rear shocks and coils you have will also help. I don't know a ton about lifts, but depending on what shocks/coils are in the front, you may not be able to just remove the spacer and go on your way. Might require new shocks and coils. I don't know. Someone here will, if they know exactly what you've got on there now.

    Photos are always appreciated.

To answer your question, it is a double cab.

Reading this is always a good idea. https://www.tundras.com/threads/so-you-wanna-buy-just-bought-a-1st-gen-tundra-eh.115928/

It'll explain why it matters whether it's a regular cab, access cab or double cab, especially when it comes to suspension modifications.

Lift blocks in the rear = bad.
Spacers in the front = bad.

    With some exceptions.

But you need to know what modifications have been made to the truck before simply removing blocks and spacers. Often, if someone put on blocks and spacers, they were going for a quick a dirty lift, so likely didn't do anything else. But...They could have installed longer shocks, longer sway bar end links, could be aftermarket wheels/tires that won't fit after removing the lift etc. Hard to say until you/we know.
