Yea, i was running 110-140 sustained through arkansas. Passing on the shoulder, or splitting lanes. Tucked in & runnin’ hard along i40. The backroads were slower, but not by much. And that bike was 4-5 days new to me, i wanted it to fail, gimme an excuse to stay at a harley shop for a few nights, but a ‘02 xb9r with 3k miles handled racebike abuse within the first 5k miles. 20k miles later the oilpump gasket failed, and 20k after that i wrecked it. But i’ve still got it. I think i want it to be a golfkart engine since i replaced it with an ‘07 ulysses.

lol, woulda been a trip to prison, but i’d lost my lamenated temp tag in the rain in VG, so i’d have been stopped anyway.

20-25 years ago I was a younger man. I drove my Tundra to California a couple times. 1,000 mil stretches were relatively easy when traveling 75mph. Today, 500-600 miles is about it, and that's a rarity. Actually, making a round trip from Chattanooga to Nashville and back (300 miles) feels like a long day.

I'm in my early 50s now, and 6-8 hours is about as far as I prefer to drive in a day. I only stop for gas or bathroom breaks at rest stops, and like to keep the truck under 75 MPH for gas mileage.

Motorcycles I'll usually try and get off the bike every 100-150 miles or so. All of my bikes are old sports bikes with aggressive riding positions and are far from comfortable. After a couple hours of being curled up on the bike you have to stretch a bit.

In my 20s I discovered they just give you a ticket and let you go when stopped for doing 100+, as long as you actually pull over.

Las Vegas to E Wa. 1100 miles, 16+ hrs. All interstate. College graduation trip 20 years ago. Wouldn't do that again...
