Ok. I heard back from outlaw offroad that did @Lemuel1 install. They said the speedmaster lsd went in fine with no issues. Looked like a good LSD. Super nice and said to call if any issues on install.
The rear gear set was giving a strange gear pattern. They sent the pics to ECGS who said it was a good pattern. No other issues. And yes they said the gears may whine on coast...

LSD will be here Wednesday. Guess I'll be busy on Thursday...

Checked on my order for fipg and pinion seals and driver front axel said 12/9 so I drove to my local dealership to pick up for tomorrow's install.
Guess what was in the mailbox...my order! Go figure!

Are you going to replace the front axle c-clips and rear axle tube o-rings? The service manual says they're non-reusable but ive never seen that mentioned by anyone

I did not plan on the front axle clips or tube o-rings. Im hoping the axle bearing are good.
I haven't seen it mentioned on rebuilds and I have reused non reusable items. I know most say to never reuse ring gear bolts but zuk does in his builds. Hope the lsd shows up early.

We reused the rear tube o-rings and I've had zero issues in the 6 or 7 years since. You just have to be careful no to pinch them. Also, some of the gear vendors say to reuse the ring gear bolts, stating that aftermarket units are inferior..

Replace those clips. If the left side fractures, maybe a piece drops, and the magnet catches it… or maybe it wreaks havoc.

If anyone is in or near Indianapolis IN and wants to buy or borrow my front clamshell press fixture and heavy angle bracket for setting rear pinion nut torque let me know. I've sold off most of my other diff tools from my regear years ago https://frugalfill.com/how-to-diy-regear-your-toyota-tundra-at-home/

I do still have the stock open rear carrier, stock gears, used bearings, various shims and seals in the parts tote as well.

I am not too far from Indy (South Bend), not sure when I am going to get to this install but would be interested in renting that stuff when I do.

I got an email from Ken "zuk" said he hasn't heard much about replacing the c clip. The old drivers side c clip usually stay like new. ECGS stated the same. But to err on the cautious side may be advisable to have on hand.

cheap insurance. Probably fine to reuse 99% of the time, but I'd rather just spend the $5 so I don't have to worry about it.

The cv axle stub shaft splines frequently (but not always) mar the c clip in multiple places upon removal from the differential. Big stress risers on a part that sees plenty of action from many directions. The Tundra uses two 43425-0C010 clips for the CV stubs, and one 90521-37010 clip for the jack shaft to differential. The 200 Series Land Cruiser uses two 90521-37010 for the CV stubs, and nothing for the jack shafts as it lacks the ADD mechanism. The clips look identical, but the latter clip is $1.70 instead of a $1.50.

I'm trying to squeeze a trip to the dealership tomorrow to get a few. I was just curious what other gear people do. But yeah it's literally "cheap" insurance. Thanks @helidave and you for bringing it up.

I wish parts websites would get their stuff together. Ourisman says the first clip P/N is only for 22-24 Tundras, and the second is for 200 series Land Cruisers.

This site shows 2007-2022. About $1.11 ea
I had old part numbers that were hard to find or just wrong. I usually go to a few different ones. It is frustrating.

Not that anyone needs more convincing…. This is the clip that just came off my old CV axle. This happens pulling back through the side gear, as there is little taper to compress and guide the clip through.

FedEx dropped off a package at Midnight30 last night. Seriously - it was 1230 AM. Poor sucker driving that truck. I checked the tracking status and it showed that it had been loaded on the truck at for delivery at 530 AM. Hope he's getting over time.

Else, whenever that happens, my stuff usually gets shipped across the state, then across the country, then back to the other side of the state, then eventually to my doorstep a few weeks late. Hope its not the case for you..

Did rear install over the last 2 days. Speedmasterlsd went in without any hiccups and got her all buttoned up. Will take her out in a bit. Fronts will be next 2 weeks or so. No 4wd, dissconnect front drive shaft...

When I was doing backlash on the rear gear it was all over the place. I'm like I filed the mating surface checked level and runout, all good. Is this why they were cheap? Haha my old dial indicator was shot. My neighbor hooked me up last night and it was all good.
Had some errands to do and will take it out for a test spin.

Ok...so 2 trips 30-45mph at 20 minutes with 25 minute cool down between. Iight whine on decel/coast, almost unnoticeable. I was a few minutes from home and went to 55-60mph, started whining! Immediately backed off and went home.
I emailed Ken, ZUK, with my setup. First off he said to do a long slow break in with the Motive gears. Something about weird metallurgy that takes a bit for Motive gears to break in. All my backlash and preload is good but just a tad deep on pinion. Drive side looked good but he said my coast told the story, too deep.
Waiting on new pinion seal and flange nut...
Speedmaster says to use ep140 mineral gear oil. Ken said in winter it's way too thick for the tight backlash. Will be using Lucas 80w-90 conventional for break-in. Calls to speedmaster said to use Lucas 85-140.
Job wise probably another 3-4 hours.
