Extended Warranty

Just did the deal with Jerry for 10/100,000 Warranty for $1,545.
I live in Washington, where he can't sell, due to WA State regs (same for CA).
I used a relative's Oregon address and completed the deal just fine (plus, no sales tax!).
Just a heads-up for anyone living in WA or CA who wants to use him.

Really pleasant guy -- lives up to the positive comments about him, made by others.
I told him he gets a lot of love here, but there is one group of people who don't like him so much.
He understood, and said they have been trying to shut him down for years, but he's been doing this since 2006.

When I told the Dealer Finance guy I could get a better deal through Jerry, it was like him and his co-worker were back in High School, trying to cook up some plan to stick it to the cool kid, but it failed every time.
There's gotta be a scene from Ferris Bueller's Day Off that rhymes with this...

careful with those.. I had a Subaru with "Lifetime warranty" to the original owner. When I went in for a recall, I asked them about that and their response was "you need to bring in your vehicle every year for inspection". I was like.. No one told me that! So look at the fine print.

That said, I bought my truck last month with an extended warranty that was transferred to me for $50. 120Month / 120k. I'm at only 68k. Another 33 months or 50k to go.

But read the fine prints! In the policy it states you must provide all of maintenance with receipts in order to get your claim(s) approved. I was given none by the previous owner. So.. Who knows if this extended warranty is any good.

 

I appreciate the info. I do my own maintenance and keep detailed records and receipts of everything, well organized. I even save sample of each oil change, every 5k, along with lab testing every 10k. Sure its not foolproof but I would be prepared to to defend myself if they say my truck is not maintained. There are laws protecting the consumer, and I would absolutely use this to my advantage.

Troy’s another great one. Same prices as Jerry and honestly easier to get ahold of imo. Took 3 weeks of back and forth with Jerry, one call to Troy sealed the deal on my wife’s gx550. Both are great though, use whoever answers the phone, email, txt, etc.

 

I just asked him, he says he cannot help unless I own property elsewhere. I told him about relatives in other states, he never said that as possible.

Trying this today. See what they say about my 23 sienna, nearing 36k.

Update. No go on this as well. That's what we get for living in commy like states lol

Hey Ive been away from the forum abit, Toyota Increased some pricing on Vehicle Warranties. Also because of State Regs per toyota we can no longer offer warranties out side of CALIFORNIA. I do apologize I am not able to help everyone anymore.

So is the play to just wait until the 3yr 36k warranty is about to expire to purchase the extended warranty? Otherwise you're eating into your extended warranty for no reason?

 

nope the extended warranty does not start when you buy it. it starts from the original sell date so buy it early as the prices always go up.

 

For the Toyota warranties it starts from the DOFU ( Date of First Use ) commonly known as the In Service date. So Yes you can absolutely wait but it doesnt do anything for you, locking it it now is better then later because we just had a price increase. Judging by the climate or the world currently and inflation I dont see things getting cheaper in the future.

 

Just bought 8/125 from Jerry on our 24’ with 25,000 miles. Amazing experience, can’t be happier!

 

What’s the price now for a 10 year / 125k?

Is this a legit site? When I fill out the form and submit it always gets rejected stating it is abuse of their server. Seems odd...

 

So far Ive heard Troy, Jerry and Myself are all legit warranty providers for your Toyotas and Lexus. I have not spoke with Troy personally but I have heard good things and I do believe that is his website he is working on creating.
