I guess the CA situation is recent but I do intend to reach out to both Troy and Jerry next week.

I’ve been advised by my local Toyota dealer to schedule a warranty inspection, then if all goes well, I can buy Toyota extra care -
Platinum. my tundra has 39k but under 3 yrs.
Anyone has similar experience? Any advise?
    Thanks in advance.

No. You should be able to get one within that range. The higher the mileage or the older it is the cost goes up.

This isn’t the case - flat fees as long as you’re within the years and miles.

I picked up a 7yr/100k warranty the other day from Spencer for a GREAT price and cancelled the one I purchased through the dealership.
Very easy process...Thank you again, Spencer!

Maybe a dumb question and maybe I’m just trying to justify not spending the extra money, but my 2023 platinum came with a lifetime powertrain warranty from the dealer. I believe it is the oldest dealership in the Kansas City Metro and they have been offering it for as long as I can remember.I’ve gone through it and it’s pretty cut and dry. It will not transfer so as long as I own the truck I have my powertrain covered. With that said, for $1500 would you all buy an extended warranty to cover essentially everything else?

3rd gen is a driving computer, there are soooo many other things which can go wrong and cost not a small fortune. Besides, for your warranty you have to do all services at the dealership which is also a big expence vs. DIY

Why do you think you can’t perform your own basic maintenance? I have had warranties on my jeeps and used it a few times before it hit 100k and never once did a at the dealer . Sales people love to scare you into coming back for easy work easy money . My 2012 Tacoma only went back to the dealer for 1 recall and they never asked who changed the oil or spark plugs brakes or the front wheel bearings . It did it all .

Because the warranty from the dealer on power train warranty is NOT extended warranty. It is a different animal all together. Some dealers offer it, but the condition is you HAVE to perform all services at the dealership or any other facility they authorize. But you have to call every time and get authorisation.

I finally got my 2025 SR5 Double Cab. The dealer finance guys gave me the numbers which were well over $1,000 higher than the ones from Troy Dietrich from Toyota of Greenfield. I gave the dealer a few days to match or even come close. He never got back to me so I reached out again to Troy and I got the 10 year/100,000K for $1545.00. I didn't think I would hit 100K let alone the 125K and it saved me $500. My warranty is in place now and I am covered. Thanks Troy.

How did you reach out to an out of state dealer to get the better prices on the warranties?

I have purchased two extended warranties from Jerry and it's been a super smooth process. One thing I see people not understanding is the length of time. If you buy a 4 year 125,000 mile warranty, you are not getting 4 years after the original warranty expires, you are getting 4 years from date of first use, which means you are only extending it out one extra year. I've seen a few post here and think people are mis understanding what the years mean. Also, any power train warranty a dealer may offer is just plain garbage. You have to have all the service done by the book or they can and will deny a claim. I've had it happen to a buddy of mine. They claimed he was 1200 miles past the mileage on one oil change and denied his repair.

The guy I used, Troy Dietrich has his info all over this. Just search for him. His number, email and a listing of all the warranties offered will be there.

Are prices going up on the extended warranty for Toyota? Just curious. On the Honda side it did go up by $300. I paid $1190 for a Honda CRV extended warranty in January and in May I got another CRV for me son and the warranty was $1490 :(

Trying to get on an extended warranty on my 3rd Gen. Both Jerry and Troy responded same day, letting me know they can't sell to me because of new laws in California. Waiting on Spencer, left him a voicemail and emailed him. Crossing my fingers because 36,000 miles is coming quick!

I used Richard at Oroville Toyota

He was competitive out the door with jerry and troy for a 10yr/100k mile toyota warranty. Honest and straight up. I wish I had purchased my truck from him. Next time!
