Extended Warranty

Thanks to TBS and Chrisone for links. Ended up with the one Chrisone sent me! Loving this place already! Used to be an admin at TundraTruckz.com before owner shut it down (and I guess sold it) a few years ago.

 

I'm considering getting the platinum now that I had my truck for few months. Originally declined it cause it was so expensive and didn't think I'd be driving truck much, but seeing how some people here got it for under 2k for the 10 year/ 100k miles got me thinking it maybe a good idea.. I'm assuming I can buy the platinum warranty for cheaper from a different dealer and my local dealer will still acknowledge the warranty plan?

Anyone can PM me some dealer info I can contact for cheaper pricing for platinum if that's case?

Yes the Toyota extended warranty will be honored at Toyota dealerships. Just not sure about our northern friends in CAN.

I'll be hopefully bringing my new Limited home in 3 weeks or so, and I would love the info for the reasonable warranties. Knowing a price ahead of time will make it really easy to navigate the paperwork signing with quick denial of their offer (should it be higher). TIA!

I felt like it was too much of a roll of the dice with the new Gen not to do the extended warranty. I did the 100K. Was told I got it at cost at $1,200. Not sure if true, but regardless it was cheap peace of mind.

It's not the crazy one with tire protection and all, but just the basic extended bumper to bumper for mechanical, electrical, etc etc.

Plus I was seeing too many stories of people having their truck in the sop for weeks-months and the dealer not offering rentals. With the ext. warranty, free rental is included.

 

you have to give the year & mileage plan to compare the price.


if you got a 5yr/100k for $1200, i would say thats an over inflated price by about $500. if its a 8yr/100k then its very close to to be a wash on pricing (about $50 markup)

you have to remember, any yearly plan you have to subtract 3yrs from it to get the true lifetime of the plan. first 3yrs are covered by the factory warranty then the extended kicks in.

 

Mine is 84/100k

 

the price you paid was only $45 over most people have been quoted thru PM's for oem toyota platinum zero deductible extended warranty.

wait thats the 7yr/100k, which was you paid roughly $150 more than what was floating around PM's

8yr/100k was about $45 cheaper than what you paid for the 7yr/100k

 

Expecting deliver in mid July, but wouldn't mind getting a head start on what I'll have to haggle with if they bring up the extended warranty. I'd like to get in on the PMd madness as well, please!

As well as anything Canada specific. Just picked up my Limited and was quoted $3200 can for 8yr/100

the pricing is for usa only and for extended warranty's that are only valid for usa. dont know how the process for canada works for extended warranty's.
