FYI, I spoke with Jerry last night. Very nice guy but he couldn't help me with my particular Sequoia because it "was" a Canadian Vehicle. It's under 3 years and 36K miles but due to it being originally a Canadian Vehicle he couldn't offer me anything. I asked him how my dealer could offer it, he just assumed since they're the selling dealership in the US they are able to?

 

I don’t understand why it matters who buys the warranty, and why it matters if your Canadian, American.

I’m Canadian but,can’t buy warranty for the US. But if I was american and bought the warranty, and then got,transferred by my company to Canada for work my warranty would still be good, and vice versa.


I don’t understand how Americans can get charged way over mrsp by dealers but are able to get fabulous deals on warranty.

In Canada we don’t pay a dime over mrsp BUT we have to buy silly thing like running boards and bed mats, and it’s extremely difficult to negotiate a discount on warranty.

 

Hello gents. I am about to purchase a 2021 Toyota Tundra SR5 CrewMax RWD with 2000 Miles on it. I am told by the dealership that I can buy certified extended warranty through them.

What other options do I have here? Please advise. I am looking at extending to the max,whatever that warranty may be.

 

I think you're stuck with a 3rd party or the dealerships warranty for used. Not sure you can buy an extended toyota warranty unless it's new.

 

Thanks much. This truck is currently at a dealership in Dallas and they told me I can purchase extended warranty through them, I think they said $1299 for 85K or something like that. Not sure if warranty will come from Toyota or 3rd party honestly. I could ask them fir sure.

 

It also depends on what the warranty covers. The Toyota Extended warranties most talk about on here are extended bumper to bumper warranties.

 

That is what I want, bumber to bumper for sure. This truck is still within the original factory warranty period so I should be able to purchase Toyota extended warranty correct? I would assume

Get a quote from Jerry here, yes only stay with factory Toyota extended warranty, I wouldn't trust other aftermarket options

 

So just got off the phone with this dealership in Dallas. Since this 2021 truck got 2000 miles on it, they told me they need to go the certified Toyota bumper to bumper warranty 8Y/125K for $3226. Seems high? This is through Toyota, not a third party. I need to make some decisions pretty quick

 

Sent you a PM. You should qualify for the factory Toyota warranty. Give him a call. He will beat that price by a good amount.

I just got my new Tundra 24 a week ago, the dealer offered me 7 yrs/100k miles for $3950 but I declined. By reading your posts, can I still buy the extend warranty? if so, could you PM me the info pls. Thanks.

Hi all - just replaced my 2006 Tundra with a 2024 TRD Pro, and found this thread looking for general insight on the extended warranties. I never purchased one for any new car going back almost 40 years but now I’m seriously considering it due to the batteries, turbos and electronics, plus reported issues with the 3rd generation drive train.

Dealer offered 10 year, 100K Platinum policy for $3068, which I know is high and full of pure profit. Also offered a Premium 7 year tire and wheel warranty for $1068. Both are provided by Fidelity Warranty Services. I’m assuming these are official Toyota plans but would like confirmation if anyone knows.
Finance guy also tried to tell me I could purchase within two weeks, but after that I’d be under used car pricing…(?)

Also, I found Jerry on the dealer’s web site but would really appreciate any direct contact info for him so I can pursue a better deal.

Well color me ignorant. Guess I'm a sucker too for paying close to $4k for mine. Didn't even think about shopping around at the time, didn't know it was an option sadly. Any options past 30 days out?

 

I would not buy an extended warranty other than the official Toyota extended warranty. Also, you don't have to buy it from the dealer you are buying the truck from, but from any authorized Toyota dealership in the US, Including Alaska where I live at. I have only purchased one Toyota extended warranty, and shortly after buying a 2010 RAV4 V6 for my wife. Didn't buy it from the local dealerships because they wanted twice as much as other dealerships outside of Alaska. So I called Toyota USA, and was told that the Toyota Extended warranty can be purchased from any official (authorized) Toyota dealerships, so I bought it on the telephone from a dealership in Kansas (another poster mentioned his name somewhere above). Anyway, this was back in 2011. I have no idea if I can do the same nowadays.

A also bought a Subaru extended warranty back in 2009, and bought it for under $900.00 from Subaru USA in NJ (too expensive to buy locally). Just keep one thing in mind: a 5-year extended warranty is much like a 2-year coverage since it begins when the original warranty expires. The usual warranty when you buy a vehicle is somewhere around 3 years/36,000 miles for the vehicle, but some components or systems in the vehicle may have longer coverage* (read the new vehicle warranties on the manual).

*The longer coverage of some of the parts is because of government mandates that relate to consumer's safety.

 

New owner here, love the truck. Any chance to get POC for an extended warranty? Does it matter the state? I am a PA resident. Appreciate all of the input on here. Cheers
