Still got my 2016 TRD and it's doing great! Buying my first trailer (tandem axle) with trailer brakes. Always used single axle without trailer breaks in the past.

Anyone have any experience/advice using trailer brake controller on their Tundra?

Yes. It works like any other trailer “brake” controller. Some had issues with a trailer disconnected warning. There was a thread about it and apparently a tsb.

You need to make sure you get the most recent update on the integrated trailer brake controller programming which was detailed in TSB 0231-17 (attached) Lots of discussion out there on various forums. My 2017 needed to be updated. Works fine now.
