Thanks. By "inlet, I meant inlet to the exhaust tip, which I suppose would be the same as the muffler outlet, but I thought I recalled it being bigger than the pipe. This thread got me lustin' bout a new exhaust tip. Thinking something in a flat black angle-tip

On the 3rd gen, the exhaust goes from 2.75" OD and widens out at the end to I think 3". If you get a really long tip, you may need to cut the wider end off and use the 2.75" otherwise it will really stick out.

Yeah the transition piece, which is around 2 1/2 -3" will have to be cut. What exhaust do you have?

I went with a custom Spintech muffler, single out with a carbon fiber 6" tip. I love the sound of this muffler. I need to post a video and pic.

This are the Black Chrome tips, the exhaust pipes were tucked away and custom fit so you couldn't see them from the back.

I really considered the Spin Techs. You don't hear much about them here but a great muffler. I probably could have ordered a pair and had my muffler guy do the install but he uses Flowmaster and I'm quite pleased with the sound. Spin Techs should definitely be looked into. They sell a complete setup depending on your budget/needs.

There are three tunnels going up Clear Creek Canyon from Golden to Black Hawk/Central City. I always make a point to get on it in the tunnels to alert everyone else I'm coming thru. heh heh.

Currently running factory exhaust. I have a 22" Magnaflow sitting in a box. I'll probably have the muffler shop change out my tip when they install the muffler.

    Not nearly enough room here!
Toyota's TRD Tip includes a shim/spacer to create a good snug fit over their silly "flared" tailpipe.
