model Y is slightly larger in all dimensions by a couple of inches, including ground clearance.
Model Y is a hatchback, so you can access the trunk from inside, and have a one piece panoramic glass roof.
Model Y may have slightly advanced Hardwares (I am just guessing Model 3 have HW3 and Y may have HW3.5 or 4).
Model Y have way more usable cargo being a hatchback, and even for its frunk.
Model Y comes with rear glasses and hatch tinted (due to being a suv).
Model Y sports 19 inch wheels for the base model where Model 3 is 18 inch (imo 18inch is a better choice for comfort).
Model Y is heavier so a comparable trim level Y is slightly slower and shorter range compared to Model 3.
Before last week, model Y only comes with AWD but this week they just introduced a base model Y with rwd and LFP battery.
LFP battery has smaller energy density so its range is only 260miels, but research has shown that LFP battery lasts 2x or even 3x longer than the other kind of battery tesla is using for their long range models. LFP batteries doesn't deal well with extremme low temperatures, so it needs more work from battery management stand point (longer time/energy to pre-condition battery for charging etc)

Y is slower being an SUV. It still comes in the same trim options as the 3, but still slower.
I think the Y has some sort of A-Trac or mud option or something.
Different seat configurations for the Y
Y has 19" or 20" wheels where the 3 has 18"-19" (pending model)

With the snow we get, the Y would be better for me. I don't much care about the speed, as they are all plenty fast.

The 3 does great in the snow too with proper tires (and driver skill, of course) as does the Y. Personally for me I try to avoid taking the 3 in bad weather as I know its just more for me to clean lol. Yes, ground clearance could be an issue out where you are. I have seen some Y's lifted (not in person) before.
Although, the Cybertruck will have an adjustable air suspension with plenty of clearance I do believe.

The ground clearance is the issue. My WRX was a beast in the snow, unless it got deep. That's the same thing the Model 3 would face.

I can tell you sitting in a Y compared to a 3 is night&day difference, thankfully.
Like you said, I'm not concerned with the slower times. It's a kid hauler that'll still pin you back in your seat

Agreed. If not for the lower price I got with the model3, I’d take the Y.

Not when they were so high to begin with. I think they've saturated the hardcore EV crowd at high prices pretty solidly, and now they are dropping the price a little to try and entice a new audience.

to a degree yes, but I believe their ability to drop the price is mainly due to their technological advancement in production process.

How TF does a software update make the image better? Seems like it was pushed out with lower settings just for the purpose of being able to tweet about improving it. If the camera and screen were already capable of better image quality then it should have been that way when shipped.

This is the case when software plays an equally important role with hardware, which is the case with tesla, where traditional automakers heavily rely on hardware.

I could see that the processing power of the hardware limiting the performance of the hardware in this case.

ouch. That's Bugatti level cash burn

Shares of Lucid hit record lows in New York this week as concerns mount about ongoing demand woes for its Air electric luxury sedan. A new report reveals Lucid loses a staggering $338k per unit.

According to Bloomberg Intelligence, "Lucid may burn $338,000 per vehicle in EBITDA this year, an increase from $325,000 just months ago, demonstrating how its unsustainable business model requires significant scaling and additional funding -- likely before 2025."

If I were going to do one I think that's the one I'd go for. The size bump is worth the minimal payment increase over the Model 3 Long Range IMO.

of which I'm about to run out of cuss words.

I am presently stuck in an idiot loop with between Tesla, Apple & bluetooth.

and when you go into delete your old keycard, be sure NOT to delete your wife's card first. it will make matters worse.
