    missed this one...

    yeah...~$280/month for full coverage.
I think it may have to do with the kids (18 daughter & 21 son) are named as drivers. as they do drive it occasionally.

    ditto.

when the A/C juice leaked out, the Houston service center was awesome. 2hour turnaround

however...the wife got a model Y loaner...and well, it confused her because it had turn signals & a physical gear selector. the Tesla attendant did a fantastically patient job of re-orienting her to a non-plaid vehicle. amazing how easy it is to program humans.

As much as I love my Tundy...I've been considering selling it for a Tesla Model Y. I have access to numerous diesel work trucks and a sprinter RV so my need for my own truck isn't like it used to be. Gas in Alaska is top 5 most expensive gas too...

MY will take a while to get there for the LR mode so order now prob for an end of year delivery or so. Just place a $250 deposit
It’ll also lock in before any price increases

I actually ordered a MY in March. The $250 deposit was worth it to me since my delivery ETA was 6-9 months out....gives me time to decide what I want to do (worth the $250 to me). So I'm expecting a VIN in the fall or before the end of the year. Still very torn which direction to go though.

The electric world will blow your mind. The few that have turned, have zero regrets - especially with Tesla and their tech and charging networks

to further confuse the gas consumption bell curve, I purchased my FIL's hot rod - to keep it in the family. FIL built it in '85.

34 Ford. Chevy FB350 crate motor with GM Hot cam - big ole Demon carb. 435/435-ish it lopes. all the suspension bushings are shot & will replace them next week. otherwise - it runs great.

the car on the left uses no gas...the '34 smells like it is blowing raw fuel out during idle. LOL

the dichotomy of those 2 rides is staggering.

One of the first to pick up an F150 Lightning
    https://mobile.twitter.com/oneguynick/status/1530336102678142976

    Context on that pic:
"For reference, a Model Y gets about 3.5-4 miles/kWh. Not that a truck would be as efficient, but it could be seen as being on the low side. Especially when they advertise a 300 mile range on the 130kWh battery pack (this test comes out to 208 miles real world range)."

The owner claims they were going up a steady grade which may account for the poor efficiency

Are you getting debris (nails, metal, etc.) in your tires? Or are potholes puncturing your tires? Bad luck either way - sorry to hear!

So much for your fuel savings! I kid, but that really sucks.

RE: the '34 Ford, which is super cool, BTW. I thought I read a while back about (Tesla?) working to develop retro-fit solutions for older cars to convert them to all electric. I think that would be really cool, as many "classics" tend to not be driven very often - a situation that escalates as unused vehicles become less reliable due to gasket degradation/leaks/fuel delivery issues. Electric would be a great fit for many of these cars.

That said, I do LOVE the sound / aural vibration of a V8 with a big cam in it and good pipes, all of which only gets better when you put your foot in it and hear it wind up as RPMs (and speed) increase.

You know gas is expensive when you drive your little electric car to the cabin. Saved me $120+ in gas for the weekend. First time “road tripping” the Tesla. Did pretty well overall. Used roughly 56%-57% of my battery over 155 miles (one way) with a lot of 75-78MPH highway. Luckily it was 68°-75° the entire trip - perfect temperature for EV’s. Plugged into a 12V outlet at our cabin on Friday afternoon and it was fully charged when it was time to leave Sunday. My only gripe is the seat. First time sitting in it for more than an hour or so and my lower back was feeling it. I think it’s because the seat is so low to the floor and your legs/knees are out in front of you and above your hips, not below your hips like in a larger vehicle.

But anyway, here’s a Tundra (my dads) and an EV!

    Thanx

and no desire for a elec mower

I have a big ole thick yard of St. Augustine grass. Electrons don't do well in thick grass.

my neighbor has one & needed to get extra batteries.

My good ole Honda mower is boss.

as well as my smog belching stihl trimmer & blower.
