Whatever this forum told me to do
watching a MS Plaid run CONSECUTIVE runs without issue is awe inspiring.

all those other cars either lose grip or miss a gear or break

that F8 was sad...it was highly modified, as well...and BARELY can beat an SUV.

Interesting that the more powerful vehicles tend to have the longer range. It's the opposite with ICE vehicles.

    Ioniq 5 is interesting indeed.
The vast majority of drivers aren’t buying $50k+ vehicles.
303 mile range and 41-47k depending on options.

Took my buddy / peer out for a drive today. He’s been in my previous M3 LR. He did not expect this. Never saw the tires barely getting grip. He could not stand not to laugh in fun.
Took another peer out who’s never been in a Tesla he never saw that torque the moment we left a parking lot. Both are hooked. I then showed them the tech it has and they were laughing how much fun it is

    well said.

this is another example of the "shock and awe" when someone get their 1st ride.

a Tesla is 3 std dev's from normal performance.

and it's hard to explain that to people*. they have to experience it.

and when they do...they laugh. it's a normal reaction from folks that are trained by social media.

a Tesla is instant gratification experienced physically. which rarely happens.

Life is good. Life is better driving a Tesla.

*Legacy media trains the masses to think Tesla is weak & unreliable.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    damn...I'm quoting myself.

and I'm not even remotely concerning myself with the so -called "green" aspects of EV's.

I'm talking about raw performance. Like beating a tuned Porsche 911 Turbo S EVERY TIME.

what other grocery-getter* can do that?

    * yes, we get groceries in it.

Work just bought me a M3LR. I mostly work from home so it's become my wife's daily driver.

We both have free charging at work, but just had the Tesla wall charger installed in the garage.

Pretty fun little car. I imagine the Plaid would get me in trouble.

Interesting thing is they didn't halt Mach-e production, so yeah something specific to the Lightning's components

I live in Oregon. If Tesla hadn't lost me as a customer way back when the 3 debuted, I might be tempted. But the Bolt for 10k, killer deal for sure. Amazing.
For now, I'm all in on my trifecta of 8,6,4 cylinder ICE vehicles. Because nobody, and this is 2023 people, nobody makes a freaking compact EV pickup truck under 40k. And, really, they should be under 30k to be a good buy. Freaking automakers just don't get it.

Re: Tesla opening the Supercharger network

In Houston, besides M3's & MY's, there are VERY few EV's on the road.

Appears GM will void your warranty if you use fast DC charging(Bolt)

    ....so who will use it?

    I see a few Taycans around...maybe a Rivian or 2. ONE Hummer.

    what's the big deal?

and why would Elon agree to do it?

I hope he charges them extra.

Imagine the data Tesla could collect on those folks.

    see...

it's just Tesla...and will be for a couple years, AT LEAST

now why the big huff over an EV network?

We already have one that services the best EV's.

The TLDR is, they sent my deposit to my dad, a bank account he never checks and didn't ever give them, simply because we happen to have the same first and last name. Took 3 months of calls, in person visits and finally email bantering from both of us to figure this out. Once the problem was identified, they told me to go pound sand and bug my dad for the money.

The vehicles are great. The company and CEO are, shall we say, not to my liking.

GM reportedly won’t be profitable with EV’s until 2025…Tesla has a huge lead.

Toyota needs to get their EV act together. The new CEO has his work cut out for him.
