That slow of a charge simply wouldn't work for me. 12 hours of charging would only get 108 miles?! If I go do anything on my days off it's usually 300-800 miles in a 3 day stretch. Sometimes more.

$1k for a dedicated 240V circuit to a NEMA 14-50 and problem gone. Just don't tell the electrician what exactly it's for or the price magically gets a bit higher

Yep. I think I paid $1500 for my install of the NEMA 14-50. Granted, he had a long wire run from the breaker, into the basement, back up through the garage and then make it look pretty.

Just installed this update. It’ll be a nice addition as the steering wheel gets really warm, and I wanted to turn it down a tad.

Anecdotal, but my business partner has owned his Model S since new in 2013, and he has driven about 150k miles on it. He has paid less in maintenance over the years compared to my Tundra. He's not easy on the car either; it's often driven on dirt lots and some of the worst roads in Los Angeles. The relative durability of the vehicle has made me a believer.

I don’t doubt that one bit. EV’s are not for everyone due to what it might cost to install a home 220V charging station (or various other reasons..take your pick), but for most people this is a great option to consider.

My General Manager purchased a 2015 S70 with lifetime charging from a private party and he has really likes it. He lives just north of my location, so he drives at least 100 miles a day plus meetings. Some of the other people that drive around like that have big diesel trucks and are dropping 800.00 in fuel per month just on work. 4.35-4.89 a gallon adds up quick.

And I can almost guarantee most of the miles on that (article) Tesla 70 are supercharging miles. I’m sure that vehicle was a complete tax write off as he used it for Uber too

You have FSD, I think right? Push outs are usually slower for FSD owners as they usually make small adjustments for FSD too

I like to tell people that if this were the case, the Tesla service centers would be stockpiled with battery packs, which they are most definitely not

Another benefit of Tesla, if it’s something small they send out their “Mobile Ranger” to your house, employer or whatever if/when possible to correct. It’s also great if there’s a bug you can report it via app or voice control and they can remotely login to see what’s going on

Mobile ranger is the best. You don't lose your whole day for a 1 hour max repair

Wonder what the lead time is when a battery replacement is due or maybe there is one or two batteries on standby per service center?

One of my buddies has a Ford F-350 Tremor that has a windshield wiper recall (stripped out, so he just has the drivers side). His appointment is in late July at the earliest.

Solid runs as usual. This Plaid made it around 430 runs before needing new brake pads ($839). That’s a LOT of quick go’s and braking. Love how this is really the only true maintenance they have had. @ColoradoTJ brakes typically last the lifetime of the vehicle on Tesla’s mainly due to the regen.
