if we use this definition, and get this result....

"The Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is the pinnacle of American performance sedans, blending raw power, luxury, and precision engineering."

    then, someone is stoooopid.

the correct answer is Tesla Model S Plaid.

    in every aspect.

<and let's not talk about the GM 6.2>

Raw power? Yes, the tesla takes it.

Luxury? IDK, as I've not been in an S. Please elaborate, and share pics of what puts it above or equal to a Cadillac.

Precision engineering? Well, that I'm going to have to disagree with you. There is way more "precision engineering" going into an ICE with a transmission than what goes into battery operated electric motors. You might be able to make the argument that there is more software engineering going into a Tesla.

As for the GM 6.2, in the CT5-V Blackwing it is a supercharged version. It's not included in the engine recall, so I would guess that adding the SC upgraded/swapped components and kept it safe.

I'm not a GM fan. I despise them. To that end, the engine may not have a recall but the transmission did/does!

luxury. It has everything the gm does, just without the tackiness and 100 buttons

Precision. Have you seen the tech of plaid motors? There is more engineering in the gm because it is mandatory. Tesla achieved better performance opting to not make 1950 tech the basis

    safe 6.2?
    Time will tell

I’m not sure that car will go 200k as is

    the Tesla will and has

all the cutting edge tech and performance and the Tesla is 98k

and to say the gm is the pinnacle. Is quite disingenuous

Ice? I’d vote for the Audi S8

Subjective as to whether or not this is a positive. Your bias is showing.

    Necessity doesn't negate the feat.

Yes, better performance. Hands down. We agree. Why is this being brought up as a counter?

Just stating that you can't use the recall against it.

    Neither am I. I wouldn't buy one.

Price wasn't in the equation. Again, your bias is showing.

I agree it's hyperbolic. I also don't know of another "American performance sedan" though.

Since when is any Audi an American performance sedan?

I'm just playing devil's advocate. I would take the Tesla before the Caddy, but I wouldn't buy either.

Whatever this forum told me to do

    Yes bias

but my bias is not ill founded

not saying Audi is American , just throwing out the ice sedan I would call “pinnacle”

and you are right , there is no other American performance sedan out there , Other than the mega performance, super car whipping MSP

and it is obviously super duper American

I would bet more American then the gm

back on topic- Cadillac has not been pinnacle since the 80’s

Or let’s consider the Cadillac EV. Uh, ok

$350k is kinda weird given its competition

And yes. The bias is there.
I get balled up when media overlooks the obvious and tries to gaslight folks into thinking a blown gm is the pinnacle of American performance sedans

when the obvious winner, which every red blooded American performance enthusiast knows, is the Tesla model s plaid

Their pinnacle comment was restricted to American, so the Audi is irrelevant.

Pricing is also irrelevant to the point they were making.

Your bias is fine, but when you let it pull in things that are not germane to the conversation it erodes your argument.

It's okay to get "balled up" about it, but don't undercut your own side, especially when you're right.

It sorta looked like any other car. Guy pulled into charging station and opened his hood. Not sure if broke down or checking for any problems. I didn't want to bother him, in case he was upset or whatever. It was a fairly populated station, so he probably could get tow quickly.

The lights on the back end had this automatic talking car running lights where they run away to the sides and then back together. Remember that talking car from like 80s? The lights run in the same way, but this one had them on the back.

    Car was red.

Kit was the talking car from the show Knight Rider.

There's no engine to check by popping the hood, so he wasn't likely to be broken down. He was probably accessing the "frunk" storage.

OK, I feel so dumb haha. Yeah, he pulled into the charger station and went for his hood. I was like, "man, nothing worse than breaking down on the road.."
Yes that TV show!! That's quite honestly what got my attention on his car!

Don't feel dumb about it. For a hundred years if the hood went up something was wrong. It's a new thing to have storage instead of an engine.

Went out to the local lake in the hills and off roading with the tesla for the 1st time. Definitely more than capable just had to be more careful and do some precise driving over some ruts to not scrap the under carriage.
