Whatever this forum told me to do
I'm still astounded by Tesla success.

in spite of all the negative press, the free market speaks loudly.

The free market shouldn't include cars with tax credits/subsidies artificially boosting sales.

    good point.

    1. Then why don't the other EV's sell at this rate?

    2. it gets weird...because the big 3 buy clean air credits from Tesla. and I still don't fully understand how that's even a thing.

    slight tangent....

if you worked for NASA, what do you think of SpaceX?

if you don't work for either? what are your thoughts on either of those companies?

SpaceX is doing some amazing things in such a compressed timeframe.

NASA is doing nothing but consuming our tax dollars.

    Agree!
We should end the billions of taxpayer dollars going towards US fossil fuel subsidies too ;)

Then when the price of gas more than doubles, all the sudden those subsidies don't look so bad

My belief is....WE should have to VOTE on any/all federal subsidies*. in a general election.

and if one were to take the chains off O&G....watch out. Gas will be $1.50 gallon.

natural gas gensets will drop Electricity prices by 60%.

small nuclear plants will drop electricity another 15%.

but..NOOOOOOOO....that's autonomy & freedom. Gov don't like that shit.

*nod to Chevron Deference SCOTUS case.

Forbes is a pretty reliable source. ConocoPhillips got access to the Alaska State Reserves. If I recall correctly, CP spent close to a billion $ before hitting the big one. Operating on the North Slope isn't cheap. Lots of oil left up there. Lots. Fed and State land. Getting access is the issue. The AK Pipeline could be running max flow if it wasn't for.............blankity blank....

These nat gas flares are all over the North Slope. Just west of Prudhoe was a giant 4 flare stack. You could hear it a mile away. We parked next to it. F'ing loud. Awesome actually. This current nat gas pushback is stupid.

Pretty sure the Chinese will jump on that situation soon. China is pretty much controlling all the deep water ports over there now.

I heard somewhere that it probably will stay there too. To be able to run a pipeline the size of a garden hose from those deposits/fields to either the north would be BILLIONS of dollars.

Found it. And it's natural gas.

Larry Persily is a joke. He's anti fossil fuel. Always has been. Supports banning natural gas. He is the last person I'd quote concerning this. There is a support group in Fairbanks that monitors the existing AK pipeline. Run a new dedicated nat gas pipeline along it and pipe it to Valdez and convert it to LNG and shipped out. Certainly possible considering the amount of nat gas up on the slope. Persily is a joke.
