It’s for just a day but hope to see what it’s all about. Not the cyber beast but still should be fun .

Makes sense. If it flies, floats, f*cks or made by Musk you rent it.

So first hour. The steer by wire takes some time. The smallest turn and it’s doing a u turn.

Smaller in size than I imagined. But the interior is good size. The visibility is not too bad. The front dash size is obnoxious . It’s so long.
Build quality and comfort is good. Only issue I have is the surface rust on like rivets, wheel hub, etc.

kinda reminds me of the f150 rear surface rust (can look it up on Google)

It’s the awd not cyber beast so not the quickest but still good. I wouldn’t by the foundation series but the AWD version that’s tax credit eligible I would.

this is my first drive with the no stick for signal and shifting and it took some time to get used to but i like it.

$300 base per day. After adding insurance (Chase doesn’t cover peer to peer rental) taxes, etc it was like $550. I reserved it at midnight after using my free play at the casino and running black jack to $4700. I said f it. I’m here by myself for 1.5 days. No regrets on doing it

So after a full day I’m conflicted. I love it but the quirks have me conflicted. It’s like frustrating but at the same times makes sense on the design and wouldn’t change it.

    1. Design- I think it’s cool. I’m a very minimalist modern person and I love the hard angles on it. I love the loos but it comes with some costs. The front windshield is ungodly large. And so is the single wiper arm. It makes the space between the dash and bottom of windshield enormous. I’m 6’3 and would need a swifter arm to clean the windshield. Back window only visible with tonneau cover open which reduces range and doesn’t look as cool, so I never left it open. Used the camera on the screen. I like the handless system.

    2. Interior- Materials are kinda meh. The white accentuates the lack of quality of the product. Had some waviness in the leather/ pleather door and dash pieces. Seats are comfortable but like my MYP had the shift and click in it. Rear leg room is okay. It’s better than midsize but not nearly as good as a full size truck. And sloping roof reduces head room. I really like the ambient lighting in it. Hope refreshed Y gets it. Steering wheel I don’t like the design BUT I understand why it is. With the steer by wire you don’t have to turn it like a traditional round steering wheel. With a normal steering wheel you’d be jerking around a lot. I’m not used to the no sticks on the column but I get the design for it. I did think the screen was kind of lower quality, it felt like when I touched something the whole screen flexed in. Didn’t feel as solid as my Y. The rear screen is really handy and would love to have that in the Y.

    3. Driving- the steering is insane. It’s probably the best feature about it. Like maneuvering in small spaces was so damn easy. The 4 wheel steering is wicked and is so handy. I love the handles. It’s also a really quiet drive. They’ve done well on cabin noise. I hit a few large bumps that it didn’t handle that well. I kind of expected it soak up those a little better. The tires are nice and meaty and look good.

    4. Random things- the frunk is small. Hard to believe with how long that thing is, that’s all you get. The bed is surprisingly a good size and like the Ridgeline it has under bed storage. The accent lighting in the bed looks really nice too. The metal is really cool and I like the exterior but you need to either put on a treatment or wrap it. It attracts prints like no other and the random spots of surface rust just take away from the aesthetic. Just random spots where there’s rivets , the huh where the center caps (are missing from the factory btw. That was wild to hear it’s on back order).

im probably missing a lot. If you want a specific let me know I can remember. There were a lot of cool settings like entry ride height etc that I didn’t play too much with. FSD isn’t rolled out to it so I didn’t get to experience it. I think that bull shit is foundation series the biggest reason for the price hike was FSD, and they don’t even get it.

I was in Kansas City and man, the amount of broken necks was insane. If you don’t like attention, don’t get it. I used 3 different superchargers, all 3 attracted Tesla and non Tesla people to come take pictures etc. I overnight parked at the casino, I woke up to 11 sentry events of people circling it, taking pictures with it, etc.

That prints would absolutely drive me insane and I would prob need to wear gloves any time I’m, or someone is near it lol.

I saw one the other day. I hauled ass up to catch it at the stop light (he was going in a different direction) just to check it out more, hah.

I took a buddy out to lunch who lives in the country. And this old lady getting out at the restaurant just flat out asked “what the hell is that thing?”

Purchased a used Polestar 2 last week to go along with my 2023 TRD Pro. The deals available for lightly used EVs are nuts. I snagged this fully loaded Polestar for $23k before federal and state incentives when it had an original MSRP of $65k in 2022. Glad that’s not the situation we deal with owning Toyota trucks, but super grateful for the opportunity to get into this vehicle at that price point. No good pics of my Polestar with the Tundra yet as I’m getting it detailed on Tuesday, but it’s a blast.

While I’m only a week in, I’m very pleased with the combo thus far. I plan on using the Polestar around town, commuting to work, and driving most places within 60-80 miles or so while the Tundra is used for longer trips, beach drives, hauling, and family travel as needed. I’m getting a quote on a home Level 2 charger tomorrow as I really don’t want to deal with spotty public charging more than I absolutely must. Any other Polestar owners out there?

I’m a homebody lol. Mainly it goes to the gym and back and occasionally the store or something nearby. Went to a friends house yesterday to drop off some items (15 mins from me). Since I just cleaned the Tesla, I took the explorer. I forgot how fun it is that people suddenly want to stay behind me, and change lanes to get out of my way
