EV's & Tundra's

As a lease the value is less of an issue, and if it's low and the car doesn't completely suck you could buy it out cheap at the end. As for longevity, I see that as the weak point in any EV. Unless a manufacturer is going to give you a 25 year battery replacement warranty, any ICE that you can work on will outlast them.

 

I think the majority of consumers look at EV warranties through the wrong lens.
Not so much with Tesla but once you're outside the basic warranty, that's where other brands will nickel and dime you to death, like they do now.
We shall see but I wouldn't be caught dead with a FCA or Ford EV outside the basic warranty. Even when something is under warranty, countless people have moved on because the vehicle is always in the shop.

I wouldn't be concerned with the motors or batteries. Beyond battery pack failure, normal cell degradation won't keep EV's off the road.

 

Not sure that will translate to an EV though. The big scary thing in a ford EV is that their ICE are known to have electrical/computer problems. Transmission and engine problems are solved by not having them, but electrical gremlins are kryptonite in an EV, no?

 

That is totally understandable. I abandoned GM after a lemon, so I can relate.

I agree. Tesla is the only EV I would consider at this point, though I think there are others that look better.

I think it's the other side of sheeple that think he's not. I believe his leanings on many things are against my own preferences, but his stance on free speech is commendable. Few individuals fall wholly to one side or the other.

my opinion continues to be that this car is a monster

it cruises smooth. Like 77 Cadillac smooth

FSD is far out. Like really far out

I used “normal” normal cruise on the way home

My brain is not settled letting the car drive itself

it accelerates to pass like nothing else.

it puts my tundra to shame.

and it does it effortlessly.

the amount of data the screen gives you is staggering.

and, if you just settle in, it cruises like a regular car.

I’m sure other EVs are ok. But it will be a long time before something can touch this
