Essential employees

Im curious how many "essential employees" are on here and what classifies you as one, if you can share.

I am, because I'm in telecommunications.

 

I work for the court system, specifically criminal cases.

 

Auto repair industry. AKA a body shop. I still get to come to work.

 

And my judge gets to stay home and not use sick hours!

 

I work in private banking and deal with small-large businesses, along with high-net worth individuals.

Everyone is freaking out now, businesses are hurting and I feel for them

 

Support staff for police. Our unit is considered essential.

 

We distribute bird feeders; while not essential, our lawn and garden customers deemed us essential so we are able to stay open.

 

I have a buddy who is a law clerk to a state supreme court judge. The entire court system here are closed, yet he will still collect his salary until this all blows over.

 

I am still running house calls servicing water filters plumbed into private residences.

The plumbing aspect makes my services essential.

 

Oh, I have the option to stay home, if I use my sick hours on my books!

I'm IT Support for essential businesses. Some of our productions are medical related. I can still work from home but will go in if need be. Had a General Manager send out email basically saying to print this email in order to travel to and from work. Really, he thinks it's going to get to the point where some's going to be checking for "travel papers"?

 

Construction we are able to work.

 

Infrastructure and transportation. Roads are still being built so I’m still working.

 

I have two letters. One allowing us to work, the other to obtain fuel in the event of a power outage, etc...

 

Wife is nurse and I’m a medic. Thankyou to those out there still having to work as well.

 

We received letters today from one of our customers - one from the DoD - stating our customer was essential to fulfilling government contracts which rolls down to the tier 2 suppliers like my company. So, I'll be at work.

 

I design paperboard packaging for a large consumer package company (Pizza, beer, cereal etc). So I have to say thank you to all the folks cleaning off the shelves at the grocery store. Your keeping me employed an because folks need food it's considered essential. I am very fortunate.

 

I work for a company that processes credit card/debit card transactions...and work has been busy! 100% work from home so currently unaffected.

my wife on the other hand, is a charge nurse, who happens to handle infectious diseases on her floor. She is truly essential!

 

Yeah small business is getting raked over the coals by the closures.

Work for Fedex here. Gotta keep delivering the essential goods!

 

Just one word. PLUMBER And please only flush toilet paper. Unless you want all us plumbers to come out RICH after all this.

 

I work for an oil refinery so the site as a whole is essential but I'm in the project design/ development group so was among the first tier of folks asked to work from home (which we can do with minimal impact).

UPS driver, we are classified essential.

 

Government IT. Essential.

Thank you to all those that are on the front lines of this battle. First responders, grocery workers, janitors, truck drivers, so many to list.

 

Treat cancer patients with radiation....still working just scared to death for my patients.....its like a bad ass dream...
