I have a 2014 Tundra Limited with the Entune Plus head unit and I've had issues with it from day one. The issue I'm having is every now and then it would freeze on whatever screen it's on, where I couldn't press anything, but the music would keep playing. If I left it alone it would turn off completely and come back on just like I turned my truck off and on. Sometimes it would turn off and on twice in a row. If I didn't let it run it's course and reset the radio by holding down the power button, it would still turn off and on twice.

I've talked to my Toyota dealership in the past and they informed me that they had another customer complain about it but they couldn't replicate the issue so nothing was resolved. They said I could come in and try and replicate it but I've been working too much to do so.

Yesterday, I called back and got ahold of the service department letting them know my issue again. After figuring out the person I was talking to was an old high school friend of mine, she informed me to bring it in and they will see if my head unit is one that they can upload new software to that will fix the problem, since it is a regular occurrence with these trucks.o_O If it's not compatible with the new software, she said they will just order me a new head unit.

I have an appointment next Saturday and will keep everyone updated.

Either they'll update it, or replace it from what I've read.

I'm just happy to finally get this resolved... I was about to replace it with an aftermarket one.

Sorry to resurrect an old thread but i figured Searching is less stainful than posting a new thread. It looks like the issue can be resolved at the dealer but is this a warranty issue?

My 2014 is doing the same thing. It's less than 1 mo old for me, but Sirius, and Bluetooth audio playing the unit/ screen will just freeze up. It's a daily occurrence if I'm driving for longer than 20 min. I'll have to "hard reset" with the power button or the unit will reset on its own. I installed the entune update that was pushed last week or so when prompted and thought that might fix it. Still resetting.

I have a 1 year unlimited warranty as the truck was certified used from the dealer, but I'd hate to waste any good grace with the dealer on a radio. It's a hassle but it's not a critical problem for me.
But maybe if it happens and I lose navigation that could be critical. However, if they replace the head unit maybe I'll get the new "183" SD card maps instead of my old "180" card.

    Thanks for any responses.

Use the warranty!! That's what it's for. Something like that would absolutely drive me insane. Having to hard reset the radio everytime I drove it? That is not normal and you shouldn't have to deal with that. Just get it fixed now before your warranty is up.

Yeah I'll probably take it in this weekend.

    Thanks!
