I searched the forums, but didn't see anything on this topic.

A couple of days ago, i started to get the error message shown below. It happens within 5 minutes of start up. I looked through the settings and wasn't able to find a way to update Entune. It says I have the most current version of things.

Anyone have this error, or know how to get rid of it? Everything appears to be functioning normally. It is a 21 Trail Edition with about 10k miles.

I can’t enable any Toyota app features. Bought my truck 2 months ago. “Network unavailable at this time” is the prompt I get. Apparently Toyota is reworking apps and such? I don’t know.

You might need to check for an offline (non-over-the-air) firmware update here: https://www.toyota.com/firmware-updates

Sometimes there are things that can’t be updated using your phone’s connection. Also, I think you need the Entune app set up on your phone for the OTA updates, but I no longer have the stock HU so can’t verify.

I read on another thread that Entune isn’t used anymore. For whatever reason connected services has been down for quite some time. I emailed Toyota asking for a timeline and all they had to say was soon.

I think Toyota deprecated this version of Entune last year, not sure how you would get updates onto your headunit

What even is Entune? Some sort of Toyota app strategy which maybe pre-dates CarPlay/Android Auto? I've never really figured it out.

Yeah, it’s the branding for Toyota’s infotainment system. The CarPlay/AA version is still Entune, just version 3.0.

I have the same problem. I was told by Toyota to bring it by and a master tech would reset it. He said they are aware of this and working on a fix.

So has anyone having issues actually tried this link I posted to see if there is a USB update available? 9/10 times this is all the dealership is going to do - just manually run the offline firmware update.

Are you uploading it with a USB thumbdrive or from your laptop?

Update: I downloaded the file to my pc and transferred it to a thumb drive. Put it in the “CarPlay” USB slot but truck won’t read from the drive. When I click update in the settings it seems to check over the air only which says no update available. And I still have the error. Maybe I’m doing something wrong?

So I went to the dealership and they said they reset my download. Satisfied with their explanation I left. Then I had the error pop up again. I returned immediately and they said they had to reset the entire radio. They took my truck for an hour and a half and when I got it back they had only disconnected my battery. Radio was still in the same condition. I had to be somewhere else so I decided to leave. Calling them back today about it.

Thanks for the update. I haven't had the chance to get by the dealer yet.

Only interesting thing I have noticed is that if I have CarPlay connected, i do not get the error message. Once I disconnect my phone, the message will pop up within a matter of 5 minutes or so.

Do you have the Entune app installed on your phone? I don't know how Entune 3.0 behaves, or if it uses the actual Entune phone app to download OTA updates nowadays or what. But maybe check your app store for it, install and configure it, and then see if that gets the update to download. Shouldn't hurt anything.

I just got a pamphlet from Toyota today about connected services. Still can’t update my radio or even activate connected services. Bought my truck mid May.

Never gotten any of that stuff to work and my remote start stopped working again. Wish they would stop monkeying with it.

I was looking at my service history in the Toyota app and noticed this entry. 7/12 is when I started having this issue. Don’t know why this entry was made unless it was not added before I bought the truck in April.

Is this a "dealer fix" or a "Toyota glitch" that Toyota is supposedly working to resolve?

I attempted the suggested update via USB without success- I assume the (your) dealership did not resolve this issue when you were there?

They unplugged my negative battery terminal for 30 min. Ridiculous…… this says they need to match some radio ID before it’s downloaded. It’s supposed to be covered by Toyota.
